I am a Evenflow fan since they came out with their first green shaft ,but this summer I have tried the new Zx5 Srixon that comes out with the New Evenflow stock shaft and they are awesome really 10 out of /10 for me ,it is performing super well and they are also well balanced a big fan of them. Go for it eyes close you won't regrets compared to ,Fujikura,Tensei, Miyazaki, I still by far prefer Evenflow.. get fit for the wright one and everything will be fine tuned to lower your Hdcp.

... I have been hitting a stinger lately, more in preparation for winter conditions when the ball can roll 50+ yards, and I installed an Even Flow Black 85hy to keep the flight down. It works but boy it feels like I am not taking advantage of the shaft at all. No loading or unloading and zero kick. Obviously I am loading and unloading but pretty sure there is no kick with my smooth swing. The Even Flow Blue 85hy felt much better, produced more carry but the stinger is a little higher than the EF Black. I will probably give it another week or two and then if nothing changes reinstall the EF Blue because I know sooner or later I will start swinging harder to get some feel from the Black. Never a good idea to try and get your swing to match your shaft instead of the other way around.

My regular playing partner has a smooth swing, tempo and transition and loves his Evenflow. I have a more aggressive swing amd quicker transition and played the HZDRUS for several years. We have tried each others drivers and both hate the other shaft. I snap hook the Evenflow and he hits the HZRDUS right every time.

Short game savant, driving disaster...

I use an evenflow black stiff 65 gram shaft with my new Callaway Epic Speed LS driver and love it.  Also have the evenflow blue s 65 gram shaft but flight is higher and the shaft just feels whippier.  The black is lower flight and lower spin.  I hit my drives a similar distance as you and also have fairly quick tempo.  I would not term my swing as short though as I typically end the backswing about parallel to the groung

Had the Evenflow white 65 s on my Ts3 and really loved it, until I started speed training for more clubhead speed. Once I had the consistency of +/- 105mph I could not for the life of me turn the ball over and sometimes even just square the face unless I took out my lower body force. Have switched over to a completely different feel in the Tour AD IZ at the moment. Waiting on a Tour AD BB 6X to compare on course next week hopefully. Even with a very smooth backswing temp the transition was just to much in the end.

Got fitted for Evenflow Riptide 6.0 stiff - 60 gram shaft in Maverick Pro 3w. Really liked it.
Then tried a 6.0 stiff 50 gram Evenflow Riptide shaft in driver and liked it as well. Still have the Evenflow 50 gram shaft in driver.  Switched out a 75x shaft in driver. Evenflow Riptide shafts work for me.

I will say it again, that the EF line is one of the best if not the best value / performance shafts on the market.

For any older guys here, this one gives me Grafalloy ProLite 35 vibes.  Super consistent, feels great and plays well for not just the average 85-100MPH swing but stands firm with the 110+ guys.

It’s an interesting line. I haven’t hit any of the riptide or the newer releases.

The blue was the first experience I had with the line and the performance was great. But if I got quick in transition or yanked on the shaft I hated the feel. On normal swings the feel wasn’t bad.

The white is something I tested in the ts2 and it was too low launch for me. Better feel than the hzrdus black but very similar results in spin and peak height. I could have played that combo as it was nothing but straight drives and nothing going left.

The black is just a stiffer ripped blue so I stayed away from it. The riptide both cb (since I seem to get fit into this type of shaft pretty often) and the non cb (has very similar specs to my custom blue are something I would like to mess with to see how they work. The hzrdus yellow (original) and the rdx blue are hard to be for me when it comes to px shafts

Just got a Mavrik 3w with the 60  S Riptide, excited to try it out, based on my driver and history w/Evenflow shafts, I should hopefully have a winner!

I had similar experience with the evenflow blue, I liked it a lot but felt a bit out of control if I tried to really go after it

I never lost control with it. I could feel the stiffness of the handle when I got quick. That feeling sometimes made me feel like I had to go after it a bit more. This would lead me to get pull more on the handle.

I’m the opposite if I really go after it I hit it better. Better flight if the ball and way better distance.

Same. Going after it more wasn’t bad for me. It was just a matter of how I did it it. If it was with my hands arms early the feel was more boardy than the smooth feeling if I did it with proper sequence of the lower body

Update:  I put the Black in my Callaway Epic Flash and I love it.  I can keep the trajectory lower now, get more roll in the fairway and even put a baby draw on it.  I know exactly where the clubhead is at all times and when I make a mistake, I certainly know it right off the clubface.  I can't ask for more than that at an 11 HCP.

Callaway Epic Speed, 9 degree set neutral.  I have the slider set sightly draw biased.  Mid size grips.  Love it.

I'm trying out Evenflow Ripte 60 in Stiff with my Callaway Mavrik 10.5 (set to 11.5) driver.   It has performed OK for me, but I tend to hook it way more often than my current shaft, Aldila MSI 130 White Stiff.  It feels more lively than the Aldila, meaning I feel like the shaft is trying to help the ball launch, yet I don't hit it any farther than my current shaft.

Also, I don't think I have as good a sense of where the head is in the swing with the Evenflow Riptide.  What I mean by that is, after the impact, I can tell what the ball is going to do w/o looking at the launch monitor data with the Aldila, but with Evenflow, I've had occasions where it's moving opposite of what I think it did.

My swing is pretty aggressive others tell me.

I ended up with a Red Evenflow 60 R in the M-6 I am gaming. I really like that shaft in that head. Kinda hits soft for me which I need. With that combo I have more control it seems than with any other shaft head combo with a metal driver than I have ever had

Those that have played the black Riptide...how does it play to flex? I have seen some say that the new Riptide plays soft to flex. Any insight?

By black riptide assuming you are referring to the riptide and not the riptide lx or mx since there’s no shaft called black riptide.

If it’s just the riptide shaft it’s a lighter and slightly softer feeling evenflow blue. I don’t know the ei profile compared to the blue but in my testing they performed similar but the riptide didn’t feel as boardy in the handle when I got quick with it.

The term soft to flex doesn’t mean anything. Flex only matters with the line and weight of that shaft.

I play the evenflow blue on my PXG driver, it feels a little smoother than the hzrdus  black which I had in a previous driver. I have the hzrdus black 70 grams in my 3 wood and 80 grams in my hybrid. All are regular flex. Like both the evenflow and black shafts. They perform similar they just feel different to me. I think a quicker tempo would favor the black.

I bought a Callaway Mavrik and it the evenflow riptide was the shaft that came on it. However after about 20 rounds of golf I snapped it in half! First time ever doing this with a driver. I'm not sure what to make of it yet, but It hits a ton. I put an extra 35-50 yds on my drives (depending if I hit it square or not)
