TwoCoatsOfWax
I've been trying to find a golf GPS app for android that lets you download the course data. This way you don't need a data connection on the course. Not only would it save battery life, but would let you re-purpose an old smartphone into a dedicated golf GPS device. It looks BirdieApps Golf GPS has this ability with a subscription at $20/yr. That's not terrible but obviously free is better. Anyone know of a GPS app that allows one to download course data without a subscription? Internet searches only revealed BirdieApps and the descriptions in the Play Store aren't always helpful. Thansk.

HardcoreLooper
SkyDroid is the first app I ever paid for. Haven't used it in ages, but it's still around after all these years. And it looks like you can download courses. Just be sure the GPS in your phone is accurate enough to use. My last two Android phones (Moto G6 and G7, otherwise great phones) have GPS that's OK for maps, but often 10 yards off with the Arccos app. Some Android phones have great GPS, it just depends.
