Well if we have learned anything this season so far, it is that Florida with some wind brings out the “best” of the golf courses. Or should I say the “beast”.

 

Honestly I have had a chance to watch much this year, but I plan on tuning in for at least Saturday and Sunday this week.

 

I think the European’s are angry at Zinger for the dis... so I am going to pick that Tommy Fleetwood gives OL Zinger a big fill in the blank.

 

Glad it’s a Ryder Cup year.

One of my favorite tournaments of the year! Can’t wait to watch it. For me nothing beats Rickies win. He DOMINATED 17 that day.

Have completely whiffed on my fantasy picks during the Florida swing so far.   Hoping I can right the ship this week, nevertheless, this is such a fun tournament to watch.

Extremely curious to see what Phil can do since he's been struggling so much this year.

We may get "The Players" in March and May this year.  PGA Tour and PGA officials in discussions to possibly move the PGA from Harding Park to TPC Sawgrass because of the corona-virus.

Fortunately, don’t have to worry about parking. My club runs shuttle buses from 7am to 8pm each day. Short ride back and forth to house!

The media is ridiculous! The quote the first guy is referencing doesn’t even make any mention of moving the PGA Championship! It’s just a standard reply of, “we are monitoring the situation.” which everyone should know, means nothing at all.

Working in a school - no strike that being the chief administrator of an organization that runs a school I can tell you that there are outbreaks of flus and other viruses every year. Some are more contagious and deadly than the corona virus.

Rather than speculate as to why this one has caught people’s attention I’m taking it as a blessing and reminding that we should always be using common sense - wash hands frequently and thoroughly, don’t go out in public if you are symptomatic, clean food prep areas and common areas with sanitized wipes. Like so much this isn’t rocket science and shouldn’t be causing the near panic that it is - or else we should always be near panic

Bring on the golf - I almost always watch the final round of this one. I’m just bummed that the weather looks benign - we actually felt it change during the round yesterday - a club and a half to two club wind when we tee’d off wasn’t but a whisper by 18.

Yes there are outbreaks every year. However, the difference is there are vaccines for them, coronavirus has no vaccine yet and best predictions are a year away. I think that's the reason it has rightly caught the attention of most governments. Severe cases need medical respiratory machines. The UK has 500 which is more than enough for normal strains in conjunction with a vaccine, but with no vaccine the numbers will be much higher. Italy has the 2nd best hospital facilities in the world and they can't cope with the numbers, hence a complete lock down of their country.

I agree about personal hygiene, this would certainly help but I'm afraid people in general are very unhygienic.

The ones most affected are elderly with previous medical conditions. Children unlik with the flu are the least susceptible so far to this. In roughly 90% of cases the virus clears on its own.

As @sixcat points out with his picture there have been multiple virus that appeared and some form of panic surrounded them and the dissipated to never be heard of again. As each year passes the media and society become more and more fear base driven. 
 

A coworker of mine is based in Australia. They don’t import any TP from China and it’s all local Aussie TP yet they have a shortage of TP.

As a serious event this has no ill intensions...

But who ever has the super size iPhone with the real life plague game on it needs to delete that app.

Not sure where or how this is going but my daughter has a band concert in DC this weekend that we will not be attending at a large Auditorium. I cannot believe it hasn’t been canceled yet. Upwards of 3000 people I believe are supposed to be there.

My wife has had chronic pneumonia for a few years, so we are taking extra precautions in the Shanks Haus.

For sure!  But for sake of argument, let's say they were in fact thinking of moving the PGA Championshop.  The Tour would most certainly deny it anyway right up to the  very minute they announce the tournament has been moved.

Wise decision.  It's often hard to strike the right balance with such issue as COVID-19, but hell, even during the height of flu season, reducing one's exposure (and subsequently others) to unnecessary risk is the smart play IMO.  I'll be watching The Players from the safety of my couch.  There has been a run on sani-wipes/lotion and toilet paper here in Yuma... if it starts happening to beer, there's going to be some serious trouble .

The PGA Tour doesn't have any control over the PGA Championship.  It's run by the PGA of America, which is a completely separate entity from the Tour.
