Popular Post azstu324
Aside from the tremendous global health scare, the economic impact will be nearly equally as devistating. So 4 days in with a brand new company and today we were asked not to come back to the office until further notice starting Monday. Luckily I have an option to work remotely and still maintain an income. Still a bit on edge though as I'll be completely on my own making some pretty important decisions that impact people's lives from my makeshift bedroom office. I can only imagine those who are not so fortunate and have had to completely relinquish their ability to support themselves and their families and I can only but wish them the very best and hope that all will quickly subside. It's nice to have a community like MGS where we can huddle up and come to both escape and find support through the recent turn of events. the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get.. I've spent the last 2 days contacting hotels, bus companies, airlines, etc. to cancel all of the travel plans for our school's color guards and percussion groups since the rest of their season, including world championships in Ohio, has been cancelled. It stinks for the kids, especially the seniors, but it's the right thing to do. The mortality rate of this virus is much, much higher than something like the flu, and given how long it can live outside (and inside) the body, it makes zero sense to expose people to it. My father just had pneumonia and was in the hospital for over a week. I have been terrified, like you, of him catching it from someone at work or, god forbid, a family member like me. HardcoreLooper
20 hours ago, azstu324 said: Aside from the tremendous global health scare, the economic impact will be nearly equally as devistating. We just went 100% remote. I'm pretty fortunate in that my company has a great remote work culture, but some of my customers do not. I am looking forward to some uncomfortable conversations next week, but I cannot risk the health of the consultants that work with/for me, and I would think that my customers really don't want anyone in their office that's been through multiple airplanes/airports. Plus, who wants to be known as being ground-zero for COVID-19 in your town? As for shutting down the pro shops, bring out the honor box. I'd happily drop my greens fees in the box if I can keep playing. M. GolfSpy_APH
Is golf one of the few sports that could actually do well during all of this? I realize this is not something to take lightly at all and it is very serious to take all the proper precautions the make sure everyone is safe and to not potentially pass this along to anyone. However being outside and not having to be in close contact with ppl golf could do well (at least in those areas that can still golf... Get snow) May help ppl leave the pin in!? Hehe In Halifax things are just coming to a head in that things are only now shutting down or closing and asking ppl to take all the appropriate precautions. It's taken a little longer, but now we are starting to see some of those effects where as before it was all a little distant from us.
