I'm not at the point where I won't go to the grocery store...yet. I do try and limit it, though. I have been to the gas station and the grocery store once each since the shelter at home order. I'm good for a bit. I even have 9 rolls of TP. 😉

I had freaked out at the lack of paper towels at the grocery store a few weeks back and then ordered the industrial size paper towels from Costco. I now have 2 boxes that way a total of 48 pounds. Whoops.

My wife had done our usual stock up run to BJ's Wholesale right before everything started going south. So we have an entire closet filled with TP, napkins, paper towels, etc. No concerns here!

@russtopherb Random question based on seeing your WIITB in your signature. How do you like the Smart Sole S? I suck at bunker shots.

I like it! Easy out and I'm a terrible bunker player. That said, it's definitely a one-trick pony. It's worthless for pretty much any other kind of shot, so you lose that slot in your bag for pretty much everything else.

Now that Maryland has a shelter in place directive, I haven't gone out.  Previous to that it was maybe three or four times to the store for some essentials.  What we've really cut down on was eating out.  We used to eat out at least 3-4 times a week.  Now it's been a month and we've literally only made 2 runs out (both to Dunkin Donuts - once for donuts and coffee and ice cream).  My wife is creeped out with the thought that those serving and giving the food to you might have Covid-19.

Yeah. We rarely go out to eat as it is, I could cook a 6 course meal here for the cost of taking these 5 kids out.

Did you see this?!?!

Just remember what day it is...

Co-Worker sent it to me, showed my kids. Oldest was crying, second oldest said... “I’m gonna graduate when I’m 27!” Good chuckle on the ole 1st of April.

That has been hardest for us as well don’t realize how much we ate out. Have been better and really paying attention at what we are buying at the store which is a silver lining I think to this for us anyway. Just really paying attention and not buying to much.

Is anyone else carrying gloves in their vehicle? I’m in facilities and am still at work so using gas and what not. Stashed a box in my car and wipes as well for gas stations when pumping and going into stores when opening doors.

Yeah. I have a few pair in the car. I use them when I check fluid levels. And fueling. Now they have another purpose. Have a few dusk masks I bought when I was doing a bunch of sanding here at the house last year, not the N95’s for that just in case. Not sure how well they’ll work, but it has to be better than no filter...

I have still been ordering food delivery periodically, but we are following a very specific protocol. All containers of food are unboxed by the front door only and transferred into our own glass containers. The bags and containers are thrown away, hands are washed, and then food is heated in the microwave to an appropriate temperature. The heating in the microwave was my wife's demand. Feels weird microwaving salsa.

Where I live we are under "stay at home",  not to sound petty and selfish but I got to say I really miss hitting/smashing golf balls, real ones, hard.

Even living in MI, with having a golf dome in the area and a driving range with heated tees,  I get to smash those rocks on a regular basis, throughout the year.

I haven't gone this long, about 14 days, since I had a hip replacement, 2009.

But considering what others are going through, I can wait.

I was just THRILLED to learn that my town now has a number of cases, and they started with a family from NYC that has a summer home here. They decided to leave NY and hunker down here after shelter in place was enacted in NY, and when they arrived of course they drove all over town visiting stores and pharmacies to buy groceries and stock up on supplies.

It's mind boggling to think that the health of so many people is going to depend on the common sense of others...

Yep! That’s what I am afraid of here. All summer homes on my road for the most part. A few full timers.

Does anyone have stats on Covid19’s affect on Mygolfspy? It seem that traffic is way up on the forums.  Do we have year to year numbers on participation?  How about traffic to the blog?

I believe you’re correct, forum traffic does seem to have increased. Quarantine at home will do that.

Went out to the grocery store today. About half the people were wearing masks and gloves. The store was following some good practices. For example, after every transaction at the self service checkout, an employee wipes down the scanner, the credit card machine, etc. Was good to stock up on some groceries, hopefully I won't need to go out again for a while.

Both the Walmart and our big grocery chains take online orders and will deliver to your car so now we don't need to even go inside.  Once we get home the bags are brought in with gloves on and each item gets disinfectant on it.  Puts an entirely new spin on grocery shopping.

Online pickup is definitely a great service they offer, especially right now. We've used it a couple of times, but are going to have to go in next time we shop because they're all booked up. My wife saw times available the other day, procrastinated, and they got snatched up.
