Rickp
Both the Walmart and our big grocery chains take online orders and will deliver to your car so now we don't need to even go inside. Once we get home the bags are brought in with gloves on and each item gets disinfectant on it. Puts an entirely new spin on grocery shopping. Had I been paying attention earlier, I would have prepared better. Tough call. I do watch the news and we had been planning on this for a while. But while I felt like we were "prepared" ourselves, I couldn't prepare for how others have reacted. I don't typically keep a lot of frozen or dry goods in the house, one, because of dietary habits, and two, because we live in a pretty small house with limited storage space. Same story for things like toilet paper and soap. For just my wife, dog and me, it doesn't make financial or space sense to store too much. I wasn't prepared for the massive amounts of hoarding, that's for sure. I'm thankful we still have eight rolls of toilet paper left, but if my local stores don't gain some more stock in the next couple of weeks I'm going to be asking a co-worker for a pack. Admittedly, this is compounded by the fact I only go out once a week for groceries and try to only go to one or two stores (social distancing, folks!), but the massive amounts of hoarding took me completely by surprise. I can understand buying an extra pack of toilet paper or some extra meat to freeze, but I don't want to even think about the amount of food waste from the initial gutting of the stores two weeks ago around here. I did rack up a $500 grocery bill two trips ago, so I did "stock up" more than normal, but I maxed out most of my storage space and now have whittled that pile down again. Hoping my grocery run tomorrow looks a little more "normal" than it has for the past three weeks. EDIT: To be clear, I'm not blaming anyone. I re-read my first sentence and realized it could come off that way. These are just extraordinary circumstances beyond my wildest dreams. bens197, THEZIPR23, Rickp and 2 others 5 Unofficial WHS Handicap: 7.5 / Anti-Cap: 13.0 (Last Updated Feb. 19, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°, -1/N), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. pulledabill
Ive backed off watchin the news and I sceol a fe news sites each morning and maybe at night. I went to my first store, Fred Meyers, n 2 weeks or so on Tueady. Lots of people. Didnt need to go but they had a sale on something I wanted. Gal at the carts wiping down every cart before you git one. Drove out to Corvalis yesterday to Play It Again Sports. The drive takes me about 45 minutes. They limit customers to 5 at a time. I was looking for a shaft for a driver project. Gloved up while I inspected what they had and left after about 20 minutes and they didnt have what I was looking for. I will say that I was surprised at how many people are out and about. Lines at drive thrus, and parking lots seemed to look normal if the store waa open. Im amazed at how many folks are going in 7 11s and the like. Not me. Daugters boyfriend is having issues with the amount of peeps in his large local home store. We are currently all closed until April 12, but peak cases here are not expected to hit until later on in April. I'm expecting at least two or three local courses will not make it through this year should no golf stretch too far into summer. Our initial stay at home order was through the entirety of April. I've mentioned it a few times that we support a few of the local courses (they're managed by the same company) and I'm fairly certain none of them make money. Land is obviously a premium here and the cost of living makes it hard for folks to be able to pay these private courses $65-90 a round. I hope they make it... silver & black, MattF, tony@CIC and 2 others 2 3 Driver: Rogue ST Max LS Tensei AV Blue S 3w/5w: TSi2 Tensei AV Raw Blue S 4h: CLK 22* Hybrid Tensei CK Pro Blue 80HY S Irons 5-PW: 223 Steelfiber PR 95 S Wedges: RTX Zipcore Tour Rack 50, 54, 58 Steelfiber PR 105 Putter: LAB Link.1 Ball: Z-Star Diamond
alfriday101
I have a three month membership at a club in the Florida panhandle. It technically ended on March 31. I went to the club today and talked to the pro. The club has automatically extended all three month memberships to April 15. After that date, they will allow golfers to go month to month at a prorated amount. The pro said there are quite a few others in the same boat as me. Snow birds (I've been here since December 30) who don't want to risk travel. Nice the club is accommodating. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have us renting carts and push carts. tony@CIC, revkev, edingc and 2 others

revkev
So since this thread is here I will ask it: Does anyone know some who has or has had it? I have one FB friend who has. I have never met her face to face but her illness is well documented given that she writes for the Wall Street Journal. She is well on her way to recovery. I have a Parishioner who was exposed by two guys who had it - both quickly recovered and we have played golf since he got off quarantine. He never developed symptoms. I know two other people who knew people who had it. All were quarantined. Neither got it. But sadly one of the connected people, a 52 with co-morbidities, has died. Spent a day in an ER with Penny last week. It was the scariest thing that I’ve ever done and I’ve done some stuff including CPR on people who were alive and died and cutting a guy who hung himself, down. Popular Post alfriday101
I'll update on my son and daughter in law. They are recovering. They no longer have a high temperature. They still have a bit of trouble breathing, but they now have their energy back. She says that she feels 80 percent and my son is about 70 percent. They were in social isolation for a week before coming down with it and were really sick for over a week. They are not looking forward to the two weeks of quarantine after the last symptoms. My worry level is down from full on panic to only an intense worry. A guy who works for me part time also (probably) has it, along with his wife. They are in their 60s and are having a hard time. They have not been hospitalized. But both say you do not want this. It is the worst they have ever felt. They've been sick for over two weeks. The irony is they have not been tested. They called the hospital and were told not to come in. They live in one of the few counties of Iowa that "doesn't have a case." Yeah, right.
