StrokerAce
REGRETS, I HAVE A FEW.... Hey spies - we've all had those clubs that we really loved but for some reason or other got rid of. Could have been that driver that wasn't quite as long but stayed in the short stuff or those irons that didn't go as far but felt soooo good when you hit them or maybe that putter that wasn't the prettiest, but man was it effective or something else... Let's hear it - what are those clubs that you regret getting rid of ? StrokerAce
I'll start: I had a set of 2016 Callaway Forged irons that were the bees knees and I thought I should have something small and bladed. I also had an old Cleveland driver - the scooped out top one - that I couldn't miss with. GolfSpy Barbajo
Absolutely LOVE the title of this thread. Too few to mention, of course, but one this still bugs me is the Callaway X2 Hot 2 Deep - it was a 12 degree mini-driver/pseudo fairway wood. It was a serious weapon off the tee and, under the right circumstances, not unplayable off the deck, although I learned the hard way to not use it if there's a forced carry involved. But, because I had to do it my way, it's now in the hands of some stranger. I hope he loves her as much as I did.... Golfspy_CG2
This is a tough one. I guess if you have to think about it too hard, then there really isn't one. But no doubt the one that comes to my mind every time I think of this topic are my PING I5 irons. I was playing the best golf of my life when I had those. But I came to the conclusion they were too ugly and went with something new and shiny JohnSmalls, PMookie, MDGolfHacker and 1 other 3 1 Quote TSR2 10.0 HZRDUS Red CB 6.0 TSiR2 10.0 Tensei Blue X ink 55g TSR2 16.5 PX Evenflow 5.5 60 g TSi1 20 and 23 degree hybrids Aldila Ascent Shafts R T200 5-GW SteelFiber I80 SM8 48F/54/58 D Grinds Select 5.5 Flowback 35" ProV1X Play number

THEZIPR23
Ping ISI with Bimatrix shaft. Probably the best driver I have ever owned. Was working in golf business and never left my clubs in the shop, except for one night because we finished late and were playing early. Shop was broken into and most of my bag was stolen. Never was able to get another driver that fit as well. Hit my longest career drive and qualified for Long Drive championships in Mesquite with that driver. Mr. 82
I have regrets with club purchases, but not with selling any. PING G400 crossover. I bought it without testing it first, and could never get comfortable with it. Probably had the lie angle off, but it just looked and felt wonky whenever I hit it. PING G400 hybrid. The club setup at address indicated that it would hook. There was no way to lay this club down to make the club face parallel to the ball without it being wonky. So what a shock when I constantly hooked the ball with this club. TaylorMade Milled Grinded 50° and 54°. I bought these wedges from a buddy after testing them out several times on the course, and thought I was getting some great wedges to replace my PINGS, which I kept miss hitting. But I kept hooking these two wedges. They just felt way too light for my tastes anyway, so I sold them. Odyssey Cruiser Tank Arm lock putter. Never again will I be sucked into the latest fad in putting, as arm lock putting was just unbearably uncomfortable for me, and frankly, could get painful, as it hurt my back to try putting that way. So I sold this putter on the used market, after spending only a month with it in the bag. I just could not putt comfortably with this club, even though I seemed to putt well with it in testing. Part of the problem with all of these purchases is listening to buddies who think I should buy every club on the market every five minutes. I've reassessed my resistance to peer pressure, and will avoid letting anyone tell me I should buy anything in the future that I don't convince myself I think I should get. None of these purchases improved my game. If anything, they made it worse. silver & black
Hmmmm.............. well, I gave my 910 D2 Titleisit driver to my brother. I found a lot of fairways with that. He is still, using it.... and hitting it well. I gave my Mizuno MX 25 irons to my buddy.. He was playing his dad's set of old Power Builts. He was very supportive of me through my divorce, and I wasn't playing them anymore. I figured he needed a "new" set of clubs. It was the least I could do for a true friend.
