Well....
As ZIPR23 texted me, I just need to stay inside, close the windows and doors, and hideout for a bit! Between the Jones bag and this, my luck has been HORRIBLE this week.
The Rep is sending me his Ventus fitting shaft for now. He’ll let me know how they’ll handle this soon.

...  OK, if you hit a 3 iron 235 then 98% of us don't care about your problems. In fact we hope your wedges cause a gapping issue!  🤣

I'm surprised the announcement of the results didn't crash the site. I also didn't expect Ping to take home the crown considering all the buzz over the SIM and Mavrik. Guess that goes to show that you

Donated $9 to MGS just for giggles.   Not sure another 18 yards is possible with a stock shaft, and for the Mizuno to show “stiff shaft” with a 115 mph swing speed seems unlikely, but would be fun

That stinks. Must be swinging to fast

I hit my drive, then bent over to pick-up the tee, counter-balancing my weight with the driver, and SNAP! The three guys waiting behind me all said, “Oh sh—!”

Yes. Played 18 with it Saturday. Great service, and the rep has even offered getting me a brand new shaft.

After hitting last years Cobra driver, I'm very surprised to see the 2020 model listed as most Forgiving as everything I've read, doesn't seem like they made any major adjustments.  Maybe it's just my swing characteristics, but I found myself hitting a lot of pulls and hooks with it compared to other drivers on market.  Maybe they've adjusted this year's model as I can't say I have hit it.

Certainly not surprised by the Ping getting top honors with Callaway trailing.  This quarantine has me considering picking up a used Ping LST as I've wanted one since the G model but just have not pulled the trigger.  I was fit at a demo day early last year for fun, but had just picked up a TS3 a month or two prior.

I've had the same experience with Cobra Drivers. I always felt like I was hitting the ball really hard but the consistency wasn't there.

Depending if they have your specs, 2nd Swing Golf has a few 410s left for fairly cheap and I'm sure more of the older models.

I used to be a general fitter at a Golf Superstore and the Ping driver was always the winner when it came to the average golfer. I'm thinking of picking one up myself.

There are people who will play nothing but Titleist and will live and die by their products. How do you like the TS3?

I saw one in left hand left for the LST version and I'm not quite ready to pull the trigger.  If i can find one for a steal, I might give in. 🙂

I still like the TS3 quite a bit.  The face is a bit more of a straight line so it gives me more confidence because it looks like it's lined up very square to the target.  If I take my time and put a good swing on it, I have been able to do a good job keeping it in play, which is huge for me.   Still some inconsistencies, but that's definitely more me than the club.  I know that it's currently fitted properly from my trip to Club Champion about 1 1/2 ago.  I did try the G400 at that point, but since they did not have moveable weight at the time, it just was not as consistent as the TS3 for me.  I probably could go the lead tape or hot melt route and it would have been fine, but I didn't try that.

Having  tried both the F9 and the Speedzone before purchasing the later, I can truly say the difference is in the new face design. Both are about the same distance wise but the wraparound face on the Speedzone gives it much tighter dispersion than F9. Thus more forgiving. Just my experience.

I bought a Ping G410 plus 2 weeks ago after hitting it and all the other new drivers(Titleist, Taylormade, Cobra, Calloway) and it was longest, least spinny, and highest launching: so with it also being $100 less than the others I tested, I was happy to buy it.
After 5 rounds:

Fairways hit: up to 7.7 from 5.7

Penalties from hitting driver OB:

down to .5 per round from 2

GIR: up 2.5% (43.5 - 39.9)

avg Old drive(GBB epic 10.5) 274 yards

avg New drive : 284 yards

Great to see you back up your thoughts with data from on course. The one that gets me would be the Penalties per round. Dropping it 1.5 strokes a round will help the cap significantly

It was getting to the point last year where I would just hit 4 iron off the tee if the hole wouldn’t hoId a 2 way miss: and giving up 50 yards on an approach shot was driving my GIR % down too. Keeping it in play is a handicap game -changer!

Penalties are such an interesting factor. I have read a lot of information on “breaking 80” I forget the duo that does it @B.Boston (the guys we need to copy but United States version). But anyway they discuss when a round is starting poorly and your driver or whatever club isn’t working swap to your go to. For me it would me my 2H and 8 iron are my go today. Getting off the tee with that hybrid tends to save penalties and strokes for me. Overall reduces shots and gets you into a comfortable groove to score.
