MALyons31 198
It’s sweet! I really like it. I’ve definitely seen an improvement in my putting. My biggest problem with my old putter was distance control. I was notorious for leaving long putts way short and then trying to overcome that and hitting it way long. Got the stability shaft and after some practice with it, you can tell a major difference! @Brandon M Edited April 1, 2020 by MALyons31 3 Quote Elizabeth City, North Carolina Right Handed Handicap: 18 Driver: Taylor Made Sim MAX D-type 9.5 / VA composites Vylyn Shaft 65G Stiff Irons: Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metals / KBS C-Taper Shafts Regular

They are amazing. I’ll tell you what, for the longest time, I wasn’t buying the hype with hybrids. People always said they are easier to hit and go farther. Well not me, until I got those Mavriks. I had TM rocketblade stage 2 hybrids and they were dreadful to hit(maybe because they weren’t fitted for me) I dreaded when I had to pull those out the bag. Got fitted for those Mavriks and now I see and believe the hype. They are sooooo legit! When it comes to the wedges, honestly they were just a carry over. I had room in the bag, so maybe it wouldn’t hurt to have another option. But the Vokey 54* will probably be pulled out when I get my 3 or 5 wood in the bag. I have a $900 credit, and will probably be getting a set of the HM's and Vokeys when custom clubs become available again. How does the Mizuno Gap wedge compare in forgiveness to the PW and other clubs in the set? It has more of a blade look than the PW? I've also heard people say there is a bigger distance gap between the PW and GW then other irons in the set because the GW plays "short". Have you noticed this at all? @Rickp You've answered a few questions for me about these irons, you're another lefty, and play these with the same shaft I want (even have 2 flat lie angle). Can you our thoughts on this also? MALyons31 198
@Grand Stranded thanks man! Honestly, I haven’t really noticed much difference in forgiveness when it comes to the GW and PW. I feel very confident with the Gap. In my previous set, I could very easily spray my GW, but while having this set, I can’t recall doing that at all. The HM GW is much more forgiving in my opinion. Yes, I would say there is a small gap between my GW and PW when it comes to distance. I play my GW for a range between 105-110, while I play PW for 125-130. So the GW does play shorter. 1 Quote Elizabeth City, North Carolina Right Handed Handicap: 18 Driver: Taylor Made Sim MAX D-type 9.5 / VA composites Vylyn Shaft 65G Stiff Irons: Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metals / KBS C-Taper Shafts Regular
D_Golfer 40
It seems like you already decided to keep the Mizuno Sand Wedge instead of the Vokey. What made you opt for the Mizuno? MALyons31 198
@D_Golfer I’m sticking with the Mizuno because it’s fitted to me where the Vokey is not. It’s consistent with the rest of my clubs being it has the same shaft and grip. I have golf pride +4 grips on all my clubs except for the Vokey 54 and 58. Even with both of them in my bag, I’d be more inclined to go full swing the mizuno but might use the Vokey for short chip shots around the green. Yeah it was precisely for the short game that i was asking because the mizuno seem chunkier.. It can just be optics but that's what it looks like and could hurt the short game on some lies.. But tottally agree, if it was fitted to you it's surely better.. Never been fitted before but plan to sometime for the end of the year.. had mizuno jpx 850 forged and they felt great! Now have the srixons but never been fitted but they seem to suit me more. 1 Quote ST180 9.5º w/ Aldila R.I.P. I actually did a fitting at BGT facility and the before and after were amazing. I know it is expensive but people drop $600 on a driver plus what ever for a shaft upgrade yet get uneasy about a $200 putter shaft. If it was not working other OEMs would not be copying it I.M.O 1 Quote Driver: SIM 10.5, Graphite Design Tour AD-XC 6X Woods: TSi2 16.5, Fujikura Ventus Blue 7X Hybrid: G410 3&4H, Graphite Design Tour AD-DI 95X Irons: T-100 3-PW, Nippon Modus 120 X Wedges: T20, DG TI S400, 50/56/60 Putter: ER1.2 W/BGT Stability Shaft Ball: ProV1X-Optic Yellow Bag: Pioneer
MALyons31 198
@Brandon M lol exactly! In reality, you use your putter way more than probably any other club. Why wouldn’t you invest in it haha. I didn’t even know those shafts existed until I went to my fitting. I was blown away. I started looking them up and it looked like Breakthrough golf kind of invented them and others started playing copycat. But I can understand why. I didn’t get fitted for the putter shaft at BGT, but I did see the video they have of the fitting facility there. Looked awesome!
