Live Free Golf MA
How do you like the Cobra Forged Tec Irons? I also heard those C-Taper 120s are STOUT for a stiff shaft, any issues with feel at all? rsilman
I have only played the Cobras for three rounds, but so far I like them a lot. For a hollow body iron, I have been impressed with the feel (great on flushed strikes, and I know when I missed it) and even more so with the consistency (I have not experienced any fliers so far—have hit my numbers on good strikes and been nearly there on mishits). The C-Taper shafts are definitely stout for a stiff shaft, no doubt about that. That being said, for my swing at least, I prefer the feel I have with these versus the Project X Rifle 6.0s that I played previously. So far my flights are more consistent and dispersion is better. Admittedly, some of that is likely due to me swinging the club better right now than at times in the past, however, I know I’m not good enough to take all the credit haha, props to KBS for making a shaft that I time up better. Manimal26
those cobras look great! One thing I have noticed is a trend of 5w back in the bags of a lot of people. Is that preference or perhaps gaping? I go driver 3w then 4h 4i and basically dived the tee from the rest of my bag. I've heard good things about them but have wondered about their performance. The TS2 woods are great. Phenomenal sound/feel. Probably my favorite set of woods that I have ever owned or at least since my younger days when I had the Titleist 975D and 975F. The TS2 3W is the first fairway wood I have had a lot of confidence with off the deck in years. I also use it off the tee on many shorter par 4s to give myself better yardages into greens. The only issue with the TS2 driver for me is that I feel I may be sacrificing a little distance due to my swing producing very high ball flights in general (I'm more of a sweeper) coupled with a bit too high of spin. That being said, the TS2 is incredibly forgiving and I have so much confidence that I can really go after swings when needed. I plan to test the TS3 this season (if we get one that is . . .) just to see if I can get my launch and spin rates in a bit better window to gain some additional yards. If not, or if those yards come at a drastic loss of accuracy, I will not be changing from the TS2. It probably isn't super clear in the pictures, but I actually don't have a 5W at all. I go Driver, 3W, 2 hybrid, and then 4 iron on down to wedges. I did test some 5Ws back when I bought my hybrid but I was able to hit the hybrid about the same yardage as the 5W for gapping purposes and decided to go with it instead as I thought it would be a more versatile club to hit out of some dicey lies and what not. I keep testing newer woods and hybrids each year as my hybrid is getting a bit older but so far nothing has been able to stake a claim for the bag. How do you like the SIM driver? I am really enjoying it so far... I have it in a 9 head turned down to 8.25. It’s a beast I’m pushing 117+ club head speed with it but it may be in part to the GD XC shaft. I was scared during my fitting with so little loft but I am hitting tiny baby draws almost every time... I came from an M3 and it is so much more forgiving... just works well for me... sound though is the best I have heard in my opinion... feel also top of the class rsilman 1 Quote Driver: SIM 10.5, Graphite Design Tour AD-XC 6X Woods: TSi2 16.5, Fujikura Ventus Blue 7X Hybrid: G410 3&4H, Graphite Design Tour AD-DI 95X Irons: T-100 3-PW, Nippon Modus 120 X Wedges: T20, DG TI S400, 50/56/60 Putter: ER1.2 W/BGT Stability Shaft Ball: ProV1X-Optic Yellow Bag: Pioneer

It was just a fluke opportunity where I was able to snag the mizzys at a great price due to a friend looking to offload them. Overall, I still like the Cobra irons, they are solid clubs. I did miss having a thinner topline and sole, espeically in the scoring irons, however. The MMCs have been beautiful in that regard. I plan to throw together a second full set with the Cobras so I can continue to have fun and tinker around with the different toys.
