Sluggo42
Since I live in SoCal, I’ll be back on the track the very moment we’re allowed, but- were looking at a month at best right now. i saw the thread about the indoor simulator that flyboy (not sure) built in his house. But that’s a waste for me once we get past this whole “Rona” pandemic. But for now I need something!! ive got a giant garage that is perfect for the mean time, but not sure what to get. my first thought is that nice net for around $600 that kind of returns your ball. I could lay out some indoor/outdoor carpet to go under everything, net, mat etc. but I still wonder if there’s any decent simulator that could maybe get into the mix. i also really like this launch pad from Fiberbuilt . https://shopindoorgolf.com/collections/golf-mats/products/fiberbuilt-flight-deck-practice-station is everyone else going crazy? PAgolfer2017
I have the Rukket Haack golf net that I got for sub-100. It doesn't return the ball but it works for the garage and my Skytrak. I also found a DuraPro golf mat on dwquailgolf for relatively cheap. I threw 4 of those workout mats underneath it and it works just fine. M. Glad I saw this, was just about to post this deal as I saw on Costco the other day. Plus another one for the Rukket net. Although the Amazon Basics one looks the exact same along with many others in design. Curious if there is any real difference to them, you might be able to save a bit more. I bought a country club elite strip 11 by 30 i believe, for a great deal. Still need to get something for the feet as the ball sits above me right now. Possibly a couple exercise mats or something. Not sure just yet. I've been in launch monitor/simulator market for a while. Would prefer Skytrak for numbers and visuals, but my issue is that it's been out since November 2014 and price is basically the same price. I'd love to see an update or new monitor with a similar price point that utilizes the very latest tech. Now it's very possible the software updates are doing this and the actual unit still is precise. I would love a trial period with one or testing of some sort as I've never used it. M. Then all sorts of different brands selling a version of one, or perhaps a version of a few of them. land they all seem to hang around the same price bracket. these ones seem to be what I call the camping tent style, with the flexible fiberglass stix that seem to be designed to absorb a little bit of the shock from the golf ball. Youve got the big flat screens, the cages, the returns, and then of course the video projector flat impact screens for the nicer launcher/simulator units, which suddenly take a huge leap in price. obviously the virus has forced millions of golfers into their “mancaves”, so I expect there to be a pretty big buying surge into this whole field. if I lived in a northern area with endless months of uninhabitable weather, I would be a player in one of the dedicated simulator rooms like “flyboy” built. (Please correct me on who it was that built that killer system, thanks!) but, since I live in SoCal, where you can play all year round, I’m going the very cheap route. But I do want a launch monitor that will see “spin”, as well as work indoors. the more I look, the more the “Mevo” looks like the unit to get. I’m trying to get more info on the ES B1, which seems to have basically the same amount of data. The main difference between the $200-300 units, and the $500 dollar units is the ability to read “spin”, which is actually the most important piece of data for what I want. then it goes expensive, starting with “sky track” for ~$2k, where it starts getting good enough for using a display/impact screen. And up to billions and billions of dollars. sirchunksalot and JAGolfore 2 Quote TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes

Sluggo42
I think the main thing will be the strength of the net to withstand balls from the woods. I may just make a little 10x10 square out of metal conduit with “tees” on the botton to add feet, and then hang a painting tarp behind the net, for a little security to keep balls from piercing the net... also wanna get a 15’ x 20’ section of indoor/ outdoor faux grass to set everything up on. ive got a huge 1000 sq ft rv garage in my back yard that this is all going into- I just need to get my lazy butt in there and clean up to make soce for the driving range- thats todays plan sirchunksalot 1 Quote TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes

MALyons31
@Sluggo42 I built this last fall in my garage so I had somewhere to hit in the winter. The mat is a country club elite I got off line at rain or shine golf. The frame is a 10x10x8 PVC I bought at Lowe’s and put together myself. Also bought the green turf and carpet padding from Lowe’s just so the balls had somewhere to land softly and not go flying. From the netting, I just searched a golf netting company out of Florida and they sent it in two days. I think all together I spent about 500 putting it all together. Shortly after I put this all together, I bought a Skytrak simulator to go with it and I use my phone and Apple TV to screen mirror it up onto the TV in the second picture. All this saved me this past winter, kept me swinging all winter long! Sluggo42
Got my flight deck today, and it’s killer. It’s got a fairly small hitting area, but that area is really nice to hit off of, and they claim it’s good for 300,000 hits. I gave it about 200 hits today and you can’t really tell. It’s like a high density of scrub brush bristles about 1.5” tall. If you hit it fat, it definitely slows it down, but good strikes are wonderful. Absolutely 0 hardness like thin mats on concrete. Totally stoked with it. Even tho they say it’s good for 300k hits, I still wanna buy another hitting area, ..just in case.. haha. Now you stand on a rubber section, and hit off grass, and I’ve been wearing some old Ecco soft spike shoes, and haven’t tried wearing any cleats, (plastic) , so not sure how that would be, but it is a fairly soft rubber/plastic base to stand on, which is fairly even with the grass. I’ll measure tomorrow even. but my initial opinion is very favorable, especially for $199 from Costco.
