Looking for a new Home Course in Brisbane, Australia

Hi All,

So I've recently been relocated to Brisbane and am slowly starting to understand golf culture down under. I have played a couple of courses here and am ready to become a member and get an Australian handicap.

Any advice on which Club to join close to Brisbane city?

I wouldn't want to pay more that AU$ 2000/Year and am looking for a younger crowd (20s - 30s).

I enjoy playing at Pacific Golf Club because of its condition and proximity, but the slow play is killing me.

I've tired to haggle the fees at Indooroopilly Golf Club a bit, but they won't budge. 😞

Hope someone with knowledge about Golf in the area can help a brother out!

🤙

Without knowing where you draw the line for "close to Brisbane city", I can recommend Wynnum Golf Club. It's a little cooler climate-wise in the summer being closer to the ocean. Memberships are about $1400 too. Course is nice with some holes that are short par 4s that are way too easy to walk off with a 5 or 6 on.

Worth a look in my opinion.

Cobra F9 9.5° (Hzrdus Yellow X)

Cobra Speedzone 15° (Tensei Blue X)

Srixon H85 19° (Hzrdus Black 85 6.0)

Mizuno MP20 MMC 4-PW (KBS $ Taper 120S)

Mizuno T20 51°, 55°, 59° (KBS $ Taper 120S)

Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5.5 34"

Srixon ZStar

Any suggestions for courses in Sydney?

Haven't played Sydney yet, but will drive down once the boarders open, I'd go for any coastal course.

Sorry that I'm a bit late to the party, but I used to live in Brisbane and was a member at Nudgee Golf Club for a year or so. Reasonable course near the airport which I think would've been in your price range (~$1500/year I think). However, due to it being very close to a big creek and only a few kilometres from the ocean, it does get very wet very easily.

If you ever get the chance to come to Perth in Western Australia, let me know and I'll try and organise a game.
