Here’s a screen shot of 2 shots, one of a 7 iron and one of a 9 iron, both were well hit. the Free version doesn’t allow anything except single shots, and no data collection, but I’ll look into it more tomorrow, and probably buy the first month to unlock all the features. But it gives carry distance, total distance, ball speed, swing speed, launch angle and spin. You’ve got to spend $500 on a launch monitor to get this stuff, and this is free?!?!.!,,!! and the 9 iron...... pretty cool eh? M. Interesting... one thing I’m doing indoors is that I’ve got a sheet of stucco wire with the black paper backing hanging in front of me and the camera, parallel to the ball flight. I was using the device in my big RV garage, with the big roll-up door open, late in the afternoon with the sun shining in... ”There are three possible solutions/problems, first if the sun is shining directly into the camera lens this could cause over exposure and the room could be too bright, try the normal outdoor mode if this is the case (indoor mode is set to get as much exposure as possible with the limitations of the device‘s camera). Secondly you might be hitting under the detection zone ie standing to close to the device, try moving back a few inches closer to a foot and a half or maybe even two feet, for more lofted irons like wedges standing closer but not blocking the camera will ensure that you are not hitting over the detection zone. Wedgie Posted April 4, 2020 Share Posted April 4, 2020 Okay guys, after about 2 hours of trying I was never able to register a single shot with the app. I tried indoor and outdoor modes, tripod and ground modes, iPhone 6s and an iPhone XR, raising and lowering the phones, changing positions, increasing lighting and adding a dark backdrop and still nothing. I will try again tomorrow when I can get some natural sunlight into my garage setup so hopefully I can give a comparison then. Finding the right spot for the ball is key... when you set the phone to start, do you tilt it back until it changes its screen to the stat screen? Wedgie Posted April 4, 2020 Share Posted April 4, 2020 Do you have fluorescent lights? I had trouble with those, and for me, it works best in a sunlight flooded garage. Finding the right spot for the ball is key... when you set the phone to start, do you tilt it back until it changes its screen to the stat screen? And does the phone say out loud... “ready!”Yeah it seems like we did everything right but it’s a cloudy day so I can’t really get natural sunlight in there. It seemed like the camera was not staying on for some reason so I will dig into that issue as well. I will keep farting around with ball position and see what happens. It has turned into a family obsession to get it to work so we will stick with it. I think the main point is getting the camera to the point of where it asks for a tripod or ground location. And pressing the start button. then the key is slowly tilting the phone backwards until the camera view comes on the screen.
