3rd round in. Wasn't swinging good so it wasn't great. Unless there is some revelations this week these will break my heart and not be my secret weapon.

...and this is why this is such a great website.  If this was another site, you had best write a positive review.  I love the fact that we are encouraged to give our HONEST feedback.  Not all clubs will work with all people.  I hope you have a good round and can't wait to hear all about them, good and bad!

... While 3 play and evaluate their new Titleist irons with mine nowhere in sight, I sit and watch FedEx trucks come and go that might as well have a sign on the side reading "There is no Santa Claus." But like the jolly fellow himself, I get a call from a very cheery British gentleman at Titleist letting me know things have been more than hectic sInce they re-opened and their hands were full filling back orders. Perhaps the Kuro Kage graphite iron shafts put them in a different production line but he was going to personally make sure they would be completed and shipped yesterday or today. I let him know I was not impatient at all and appreciated the opportunity to play new T100-S irons built to my specs, so a small delay in shipping was not even a consideration. He replied most energetically "Thanks for that but I know what it is like to order new clubs and then wait, the longest wait there is and I am just excited to get them to you". He sounded just like us.

Our assistant pro is a Titleist guy, he ordered a new set a while back, and they still have not shipped.  He called them and they told him that his order was canceled because the 4 iron was back ordered.  He was stunned that they would cancel the entire order because of one club and even more shocked that Titleist never called him to tell him.  After that phone call he made to them, I am pretty sure they put a rush on his new sticks.

Glad to hear they're on the case for you Chisag!  I'm usually fine with waiting until I get the tracking number.... then I start timing how long it should take to drive/fly from the last check in point to the destination. 🤣

The funny thing is, no matter our age the thrill of waiting for the UPS truck rivals Christmas morning.

... After playing yesterday I came home to the Titleist box sitting by the front door. I was not expecting it til Monday or later so thanks to Titleist for shipping so quickly as I will play them this weekend. They really look just about perfect at address with the thinnest top line I have seen In a Players Iron. I am also looking forward to playing the Kuro Kage 105gm Tini shafts to see how they compare to my Recoil 95 Prototype and Steelfiber 95s.

... I was pleasantly surprised that the W2 wedge is labeled 48* as the "2" with the P can be small and not easy to detect in the bag and confused with P1. Just a nice touch.

Excellent to see they have arrived @chisag, now for the real question. Which of your 3 sets will they be competing with and will possibly replace? Or will they become playing set number 4? 😄😎

... So took my T100-S to the course for their first round today. Hit a decent drive on #1 and was left with 145, a tweeter yardage for me. Since these are new lofts I was unsure what to hit but since it was light rough I decided it might fly some so I just hit a full pitching wedge. Sweet feel, perfect trajectory and it was all over the flag. Hit just short, checked up and then rolled in the cup! What a first impression!!!

... Now it really would be awesome if that is what occurred but what really happened is I found out the forged hosel on the T100-S is really soft feeling. 🤣  I did hit my 58* to 5 feet and managed to save my par. Obviously I have a big review to write and will need quite a few more rounds before coming to any conclusions. I will tease you with this: the Kuro Kage 105 Tini's are every bit as good as my Recoil 95 Prototypes. I also had a 201 yd shot slightly uphill on a tough par 3 and hit my T100-S 4 iron 15 feet from the hole and pin high. Felt great. Stay tuned...

Oh that first paragraph is dirty!

tough with new gapping I am having the same issues and with no ranges open it’s been tough to get distances down

goodnkick!

These irons are starting to grow on me. Not sure if I missed the center of any today. First two holes 2 9 irons, one from fw bunker to 2 feet. Second one to 5 feet from fairway.

I remember a time when if you said gapping to me I would have thought you ment the spaces in the bag 🤣🤣 Now I am obsessed with it. It will be very interesting to see if you guys have the compression at the top end that most sets get.

One of the first things I did was a bag mapping on SkyTrak to try to figure out how far they went. Closest 2 irons you ask? 4 & 5 iron. @ 12 yards apart. (Typical for me as I think every set I have had is this way) 3 iron goes longer and there is separation, but I need about 327 yards of open land to get that thing to stop.

Got another round in today and hit the ball as good and bad as I can! Lol
The course I played again today is a 9-holer so I get to play each hole twice which is great for doing reviews. The 8th hole is a 167 yard par 3. I put what felt like identical swings on a 7-iron. One was hit dead center and flew high and straight pin high. The other was ever so slightly toey and ended up short of the green a massive 30 yards shorter. I couldn’t believe it was that much shorter with such a slight miss. I would have expected maybe 10-15 yards shorter but still on the front of the green.
These t200’s continue to show a lot of potential for greatness when hit dead center for me. Miss hits(slight or massive) not so much.

Surprising to see that much of a drop off on similar swings. I’ll be interested to see if that becomes a recurring issue. I feel like my AP2s aren’t that punishing on a miss hit like that.

Yeah I'm hoping it was an anomaly. My swing has been wildly inconsistent lately but felt like I was starting to find my groove again. I got inside my own head when it happened and started thinking I had to be perfect with every shot and that is never a good thing for me!

Been there, never a good feeling when you’re thinking about your swing on the course.  I think I’ve been doing a little too much of that so far this year myself.  Sounds like the best thing for you is another 18 holes!

Spoiler alert!

If you are looking for a magic wand to turn your terrible swings into amazing results, you may want to look elsewhere. I put every imaginable bad swing on these over the last 27 holes and I can honestly say that a bad swing still produces a bad shot! emoji1787.png

I was going to post the same basic comment last weekend, these clubs cannot fix my bad swings.  And I think that I was probably trying to hard for the first couple of rounds, trying to force good shots by putting in extra effort, which is obviously the wrong way to go about it.  I got in a little range session on both Thursday and Friday, and tried really hard to maintain normal tempo yesterday and today, and the results showed significant gains.  Those normal solid swings were producing good trajectory and distance, maybe a little more distance than I anticipated once or twice.  I've had a bit of the same issue that @blackngold_blood mentioned, that what felt like minor mishits ended up a bit shorter than I anticipated.  It could be that these were actually further off-center than the feel indicated, that the tech in the clubhead makes it easier on the hands.  Or it could be that off-center contact is punished more severely, I don't know yet.  What I do know is that I hit more good shots this weekend than last, made more good swings, and the results on the good swings are really good.  And I guess this is why we take a while to do a review, first impressions aren't always right.

The man can even act through a forum post!  The first paragraph was class.  On behalf of us high cappers, I want to personally thank you for testing all of the club.  Performance from a hosel-rocket is a must when I am looking at irons.

On a more serious note, what does the soft step accomplish in terms of performance for you?  Is it higher ball flight/more spin?
