What’s your favorite grip?

While I'm sold on the MCC+4's for all of my clubs, I'm tempted to try a WINN LT for my 60* since most of the time I'm choking down on it. Anyone here try the LT?

I've always liked the feel of a "wrap" grip. Would love leather wraps but dropping that much coin on grips is not something I want but I suspect they last much longer than rubber compound grips.

So, with these new Ping irons I'm getting the opportunity to test, I'm getting them with Tour Velvet Smart Grips from Arccos, that I guess that's my current answer, as I'm looking at getting Tour Velvet Aligns on my woods/hybrids, Tour Velvet 360's on wedges for uniformity throughout the set.

I have always liked the Pure Pro Grips. However I just picked up a pack of 13 from Mike's Golf Outlet for under $30 brand new. Really like the feel so far!

Lamkin iLine are still the best ever made for me... I should’ve bought a case of them when Lamkin last had them on-sale! I miss those grips.

I recall the story on those as being built with some kind of partnership with Iomic.  Do you like Iomics?

Iomic X-Evolution for me.  Tacky when new, tacky 2 years old, the best grips I've ever used.

I've been looking at these.  How would you characterize the feel?  Firm or squishy?  Do they "move" when you swing?

I'm currently playing with Gripmaster Perfs.  Really nice.  My other favorites are: Golf Pride Tour Velvet, Lamkin UTx, and No1 50 Series Pro.

I'd say medium firm, not squishy like some of the Lamkin grips I've felt, and really tacky feeling.  I don't get any sensation of movement through the swing.

Another vote for the MCCs. I really like how they can play in all kinds of weather. I used them in a tournament while it was raining cats and dogs and they held up really well. My confidence in my shots increased since I didn't have to worry about them flying out of my hand. I'm currently playing some Champkey grips from Amazon and I was actually surprised. They are significantly cheaper, have cool designs, and some good feel.

I have sweat hands so I'm a chord guy.  I love the lamkin utx midsized.  I have blue on irons, red on 3 wood and driver!

Jumbo max ultra lite here...always had issues with putting a choke hold on the club and these have helped that substantially. Also like the IOMIC grips, have a set I am putting those on as well.

Just put another set of Lamkin Sonar midsize on my irons last night. Tacky, on the softer side, but not mushy like the CP2 I had on there. Should be good to-go for the rest of the season!

I'm using Tour Velvet +4 now.  Last set was a TV standard .580 core on a .600 shaft.  I like it a little bigger, but so far as midsized.

I could be wrong, but doesn't DeChambeau use a non-tapered grip?  If so, that could be the ticket.

New Superstroke grips on my irons are really good.  I'm pleasantly surprised.

Absolute Favorite - Grip Master Perf Wrap... A big $ commitment on the front end, but they last forever, and get better with age.  Unfortunately, I have a "small problem" with equipment, and buy/trade/sell  far too often to justify the investment in leather.

Favorite grips without taking out a second mortgage - Lamkin UTX... The perfect combination of tacky and traction.

Favorite from "Back in the day" - Lamkin Crossline Classic Cord (I must have been the only person that liked them)

Agree on the Gripmasters.  I have the same problem with the rotating clubs.  When trading, I'll take them off and replace them with Tour Velvets.  Then put them on the new clubs.

Please file this under "I read it on the internet, so it must be true"...

Years ago, I read a post by a very reputable club builder (may have been Dana Upshaw, but I can't swear to that...) on a now defunct forum (GEA) that warned against blowing Grip Master wraps on and off with compressed air.  The reasoning (as I recall) was that the wrap constricted the underlisting to the point that air would damage the rubber, leather, or both.  Given that information, I have always used tape and solvent when installing my leather wraps.

I have removed Grip Masters with a Golfsmith blade-style remover, and I don't enjoy it.  It is very easy to stretch the wrap loose, and I worry about excessive solvent taking the tack out of the leather.

Do you use a blade to remove yours, or have you been successful with compressed air?

Thanks!
