2020 Official Member Review: Hogan GS53 driver

Congrats guys and looking forward to reading the reviews. My friend bought one last year and he swears by it.

Just got the driver in today and went out and played only used the Ben Hogan off the tee. Like it so far but need to get used to it since it's lower lofted and stiffer shaft then my current driver.

Glad to hear it arrived and you've gotten a chance to take it out and play with it! That's a classy looking headcover, and from what I've seen of the driver, it looks good too. Any initial thoughts on the sound or feel yet?

Sound and feel are very good in my opinion. It's a good thwack sound instead of the ringing titanium on some other drivers. I wasn't swinging great and could feel where on the head I was hitting it and knowing a good center strike.

This looks like it will be a great group and test!! Hogan have always made classy looking clubs and that head cover is no exception!

Yes @03trdblack confirmed it is the same adapter Maltby uses for the KE4 TC Driver available at Golfworks.

Looks like a nice club. Played 9 holes with it this morning. Clubs looks solid in your hands but it definitely a slightly smaller profile compared 460 cc heads. It also felt slightly heavier to me than other drivers, but that might be due to the shaft. It has a good whack sound when it is hit and didn’t sound “tingy” or hollow at all. I hit a couple good ones about 270 yards on 2-3 holes, one was into the wind. I was spraying it a little all over the course, as I think I was just getting used to it. I usually hit a little draw but had a slight fade when hitting this club. I'll have to play with the adjustments and see how they affect ball flight. Excited to continue testing it.

Yep same adapter as the Golfworks KE4 TC. I was pretty happy about that since I already have a couple shafts and adapters with the KE4 head. If the Smoke shaft doesn't work for me I'll have options

Very nice looking drivers, the adaptors seem pretty cool too. It will be very interesting to see if they perform well too....

I’m curious if any of you will take a hard look at the rest of Hogan’s lineup now that you’re getting your initial swings with the driver.

Anyone have the chance to do a comparison against there other driver for head size visual? I am big on at address how it looks and am not familiar with the Ben Hogans

I think it looks great from address. It's a little more compact then my Ping G30 in depth. At address I think the face looks a little shallower then the Ping as well but I think they are about the same. (Hogan top, G30 bottom in both pics)

Great stuff thank you. I prefer the shiny finish over a matte IMO. This club looks great and great comparison with the G30 which has the harder taper on the back. I also like the BH symbol on top to line up the ball
