Eagleputt2008
Had one quick fitting question. 410 flat setting- does that exist to mainly eliminate the hook or can it be used to fine tune start line? I’m a fairly straight hitter, but my miss is a big cut. I feel like My path is good, but my startline could be farther right. fixyurdivot
This may help. It seems the science behind PINGs latest tuning hosel is not all that well understood. I have the 410 Plus as well and have my 9 degree set at 10 degree (small +)/Neutral setting and with the perimeter weight in draw position. I've never tried the F+ setting. It was set by my fitter using a LM and it has been working quite well. The superstitious part of me says "don't fix what isn't broke". If you can get some time on a LM, I'd suggest trying the various settings and see what works best. Eagleputt2008
With your big cut, what it the start line? Does it start straight then fade way or goes left and then cut? Start line is just left of target I’d say. I’ve found that I’m playing my best when I’m able to bring the draw into play. I’m working on it more but if I could get that start line a little further right it would help a little. Regarding your question on flat vs. neutral lie, draw vs. fade, if you tend to fight a push/slice, then you don't want the flat setting. This is my case - I tend to fade way more than draw. SnoopMatty
I just got a 410 Plus recently. I've played with the settings and I've landed on having the weight on "fade" and the hosel adjusted to "flat - zero:". It's a 9 degree. I may move the perimeter weight back to the middle and play with that but I like the flat setting. My miss tends to be more of a hook. fixyurdivot and Eagleputt2008 2 Quote G410+ 9° Stiff F9 3W i210 4-Pw Stiff 3H Vokey SM7 52, 56, 60 Sigma Zstar

LakeArone
Yes, the flat setting will push the start line a touch to the right. Despite what’s been said, some people, like Tiger, hit a draw by opening the clubface slightly. If you want to go to a strong grip and bring a lot of bottom hand into play to counter that wipey fade, then yes, throw it in the flat setting... That’s exactly what I do: with the flat setting it’s virtually impossible to hook it. I’ve been playing with the weight in the neutral setting, and I’ve been hitting cuts and power fades. My miss has always been a hook left, but with the adjustments it doesn’t matter how strong my grip is, my ball is going to move left-to-right. I’m gonna move the weight to the draw position and see if that straightens my flight ... Micah T
I did some tinkering at one of my local driving ranges last night: I’m lucky enough to have one equipped with top-tracer for free! I hit about 15 balls each on a few settings: eliminated the toe and heel strikes and found these stats: Ping G410 plus w/ weight in draw position 112-115 mph swing speed 167-171mph ball speed F+ : avg carry 268 avg launch angle 12 shot shape: balloon fade F- : avg carry 274 avg launch: 11 shot shape: power fade F: avg carry 278 avg launch 10.5 shot shape: fade/cut Small - : avg carry 268 avg launch 8.75 shot shape: low two-way miss/ right &left blocks Big - : avg carry 258 avg launch: 7.5 shot shape: hook/ power draw Little + : Avg carry 289 avg launch: 13 shot shape: straight/10 yard cut conclusion: I stopped here after 15 swings that had my buddies whistling their approval on the little plus: but nothing in my swing is static: as I improve my swing changes. When I was a 15 handicap my miss was a block dead right, as I’ve gotten into single digits my miss has been a hook left: but it was interesting to see the settings actually influence my launch, shot shape and carry. elvis14, Eagleputt2008 and SnoopMatty 3 Quote Driver - Cobra LtDxLS 3 Wood - Ping g410 LST 2iron - Titleist U505 Irons - Ping i59 Wedges - Vokey Sm9 Putter - Mizuno Mcraft IV

LIGHT THE CANDLE
Flat setting wont eliminate a hook, it might help start it on a right of center line, but that’s it . Gman24
I was playing the Ping G400 LST and "loved" it. The face cracked and Ping (great customer service) replaced it for free with a Ping G410 LST. I was really struggling with consistency with the new head and tried the "Flat" setting and that seemed to make a change for the better. Now I have my mini draw that I had on the G400 LST. Keep trying the settings for what works best. ELEL13
I’ve been testing the new g425 and loving it. I’ve got a big inside out path, around 8 degrees. My shot shape is a draw with a block right and hook being my misses. I’d love to straighten this out of course. Im interested in the flat setting for the pings. I do start the ball right of the target line anyway, so will the flat setting do anything to help my inside out path draw turn into a fade? Thx!
