jaybeemaestro
For me it's an easy answer to worst club. The driver. Callaway Epic Flash SZ is getting sky-marked by me atm. 2nd hand Mizuno ST180 hasn't seen the course yet due to lockdown. I have utterly unfounded (and easy dashed) optimism though. If I can finish with the same ball I will score okay. If not, it can be a train-wreck. Best club has probably always been the 56deg SW. I found lower bounce works better for me. 20% of my 2's on par 3s (stats go back to April 2013) come from chip-ins, invariably with the 56 too. jddaigneault
It’s the same club for both. Full swing 50* is money, but up around the green under pressure can and often results in a duffed or bladed chip. I’ve got the long game of a single digit guy but the short game is garbage. I was just starting to see big gains in that regard when the courses all closed! I miss golfing! Clay10Co9
A new Fave for me is Vokey 54 degree with Frankenstein Grind. I bought it second hand at a shop here in Plano and I love it. I wanted a 54 for gapping purposes and don't love paying over $100 for a new wedge. You couldn't even see all the #s on the club because they had put their own grind on it. However, I love it. I rarely hit that odd thin or chunk around the greens anymore. Worst has got to be 6 iron. Never really got along with 5 and 6 iron. I haven't had as much of a problem these days but, it's got to be all mental. I can stripe a 4 iron all day but, will fat a 6 iron if I'm not careful. I think I have confidence with my 4 iron because as a junior I would tee off with 4 iron if I was having a bad day with my woods. It was always my fairway finder. GolfSpy_SHARK
My favorite because I am most confident is a tie between 2H and 8 iron. I recently put a new shaft in it and took it to the range. I hit the first 5 exactly where and how I wanted. I was like this is it!! and then I duck hooked the next one... Blueberry_Squishie
I would say the best club in my bag for my game is the driver. It's what gives me an edge over most people in the field. The game is easier when you can turn par 5s into par 4.5s, and some par 4s into par 3.5. I would say that worst club is my 16° hybrid. Not that it's a bad club, it's just that it's the one where my bad swing habits (getting steep and flipping my hands to try and square the face) are magnified most. It's not unheard of for me to hit that 240m but with a 50m hook. That said those hooks are getting rarer in my game. Just a process of time to iron out bad habits. shortgame
What I considered my best club 2 years ago is now my worst which is the 3 wood. I just can not hit this club straight. Thank goodness the last day before the course closures I cracked it. My best club would be the pitching wedge. I have confidence in the club with full shots to chipping. BTW just ordered the Mizuno ST180 3W with the Tensei CK Blue shaft. Hoping for better results as I didn't get to test it out before buying.
