Tpoole22
Has anyone noticed a difference wearing spiked shoes and if so what benefits do they have over spikeless? Ive always worn spineless shoes but have been looking at getting a new pair and am curious if it would be better to get them with spikes. beelzeberto
I like spiked more (adidas 360), they give each more traction. Even in dry weather I prefer them. tony@CIC 1 Quote Sim / M2 / MG Z785 Brandon Matthews No2 - Not Made for the Tour "buy the ticket, take the ride..." Link to comment
golfish!
I recently changed from spikeless to spiked. Will never go back. My first pair of golf shoes ever were Nike Lunar spikeless that were on clearance. Then went to a Sketchers spikeless. Bought a pair of footjoy spikeless recently then my dad bought me a pair of Sketchers spiked shoes and IMO the spiked give you better traction and make you feel more grounded. Just recently bought a pair of Adidas Tour Response as they were on sale for $30 on Amazon. Trying out the 360 XT through Amazon Wardrobe program. Calvo90
I own both spiked and spikeless shoes. For warm summer afternoons I prefer spikeless shoes since they are a bit more comfortable, and there is enough traction. But as soon as some moisture is on the grass (morning dew etc.) you can expect to slip. So for me spiked shoes are the general rule and spikeless shoes are the exception to the rule. Erik-M
I like spikeless in any weather. I play on a course that is usually wet till July and it doesn't effect me to have spikeless. I feel like I can feel the ground better and am more athletic. The spiked seem to stiff and my golf move feels less athletic. Plus walking in spikeless is more comfortable and less likely for me to get blisters. Just my opinion HardcoreLooper, Kaplack and Wondergiulio 2 1 Quote Link to comment
xOldBenKenobiX
I have had both, honestly I prefer spikes, just because of the extra grip, my right foot has the tendency to slip at times, and I find that the spikes help keep it stable. At the end of the day, it is a matter of personal preference. buttercuts42
Definitley dependent on the weather. Right now I have a pair of skechers spikless and puma ignite spiked. Usaully end up taking both pairs to the course and deciding when i get there. Really like the spikless when i know its dry out and dont need the extra grip for when its wet. Like the spikeless as you can treat them like a sneaker and no need to change shoes on the way into the bar. HAHA BrownBearGolf, Finky999, Nolan220 and 1 other 4 Quote What's In My Bag... Nolan220
I play with spiked and spikeless, I feel like the spikeless shoes I had the rubber kind of wears quicker since they are mostely soft, the spike shoes I had I replaced the spikes and still got to go. cciciora13
Love my spikeless shoes. Used to have spikes and it was annoying to replace the spikes. Had spikeless shoes for 2+ years and have never had an issue with traction or wearing of the treads. Still wish they made the cardiff ADC golf shoes! braveheart 1 Quote In my bag: Driver: Ben Hogan GS53 10.5* Stiff Mitsubishi tensei blue Stiff 3 Wood: 939 x 15 deg. coyote_jones
I've never had spiked, so I can't speak on a comparison, but I just bought my first ever pair of spikeless (Inesis Waterproof Grip) and I played in them this weekend and loved them. They're comfy. Grippy. The course wasn't wet so I can't speak to their waterproofness. They're comfortable and affordable. I'd recommend. I wrote a mini review in the review section if you're looking for more. cnosil
Nothing beats spiked shoes; especially love the sound of them clicking on concrete. As for soft spikes vs spikeless I prefer soft spikes. Spikeless have gotten better over time but I probably wouldn’t switch.
