How would you play this shot??

18th hole, short par 4 and playing your second shot.

Into the grain lie, downwind roughly 15mph, down grain green, left to right slope, costal course.

I would use my 50* wedge making sure I made solid contact. The wind should not effect my shot, make sure to get it just over the slope, aiming to the left and let it feed down to the hole. Not trying to make it sound too simple.

Hard to judge distance but I am chipping a 6/7 iron just onto the green; toward the right edge of the large palm tree and let the ball roll to the hole.

Roughly 30 meters to the pin.  Good shout the flat edge helps due to the heavy costal grain

I would either chip it towards the palm or attempt a flop shot if I’m feeling froggy.

Takes a froggy man to flop it with the sandy lie and down wing down grain!

+1, my go to greenside shot when possible. Doesn’t make it right for everyone, some people (including most pros) are better with higher loft clubs around the green than I’ve ever been.

Knowing how good I am, I would hit the driver from the deck, knowing that 99%of the time I would "top" it for a smooth roll towards the pin.

TBH, I would probably take a 9 iron, bump and run towards the light post to the left of the flag.

or if it has been one of those horrible rounds, I would just take my putter and take a full swipe towards the palm trees and pray for a good roll.

Probably use my 52 (my lowest bounce wedge) to bump it into what looks like that ridge to left for a soft hop and let it feed down to the right.  Or if the greens are slower or the slope isn't as severe as it is looking to me in the photo I would fly it further, maybe half way there and let it run towards the hole from there.  From your description it sounds like I want to get at least to the hole to leave an uphill putt coming back.

In reality I probably chunk a 60 flop shot that really didn't need to be attempted. 🤷‍♂️

I’m going 52 with a low pitch. Land it right on the ledge and let it roll down towards the hole.

I agree make sure you hit ball first and it should check and trickle down

I would use my 7 iron and bump and run it up the left side of the slope and hope it slides to the right with the slope . Looks like a bit of back stop there as well .

Tough to tell distance wise and how steep of a left to right but first glance and quick judgement I would play a nice pop and roll with a 50 in the general area below let it funnel and run towards the hole easy putt

This is my first thought too. If the green has significant grain towards the hole it will be tricky to get the backspin just right. Land it on the upslope and it’ll likely come up short. Land it on the downslope it won’t stop. I think I’d play a PW and hold the face off so it comes in a bit softer than an 8 and try to lay it just short of the top that dome there. It’s the flattest landing area with the the largest margin of error.

If I was hitting everything really pure that day, I might clip it thin with a slightly open 56* and fly it close and try to check it.
