Tarheelvolvo
Any further updates @Briton or @The 19th Hole? Sounds like the accuracy on distance is pretty good (minus your driver comments), but how has the unit held up thus far? Any tech glitches or wonkiness to report? Also, any solution to the short battery life? Could you leave the unit plugged in with an extension cord or something? Lastly, how has this impacted your game and training? Do you think it was a worthwhile investment to help you train and practice better? What are you doing with the stats you have collected thus far in terms of improving your game? 4 Quote In my Hoofer: G410 LST 10.5* - Evenflow Black 65 6.0 VRS Covert 3W 15* - Kuro Kage 65 S-flex T200 4-GW, DG X100 Tour Issue - Tester Glide 2.0 Stealth 54.12 SS & 58.10 SS Zing 2 LW - 60* Anser

Never got a chance to hit indoors. I sold it more for financial reasons, It was an awesome unit and wish i could of kept using it but I did not use it enough to validate keeping it. 1 Quote -NX9 HD slope -Newport 2.5 -Sm8 (50,56,60) =4-PW TC-201 -2 iron HMB MP 20 -Driver --Mavrik Sub Zero

All tech glitches get fixed pretty quickly and all it takes is an update. Battery life was an issue before I sold it but they had a firmware/software update to fix it and make it more efficient. As far as I understood you can plug it and to a wall and charge it while using it. i only used it on the range outdoors where there is no power close. I loved the machine and felt like it helped me dial in my numbers for each club in a way that i have not done before and with any swing changes or club changes i could get it dialed in pretty quickly. 1 Quote -NX9 HD slope -Newport 2.5 -Sm8 (50,56,60) =4-PW TC-201 -2 iron HMB MP 20 -Driver --Mavrik Sub Zero
WaffleHouseTour
I've just had my sixth session with my Mevo+. So far i've only been using with the FS Golf app - either at the range, or hitting into a net (outside/indoor short). I keep getting more adept at figuring out the FS Golf app - like finally figuring out how to add data blocks to the video. I guess I'm old and think directions should be included... but i'm getting the hang of it. A question for other Mevo+ users - 1) have you used it with an external battery pack, and if so did you get any interference causing lost shots? 2) have you found that your Mevo+ internal battery drains without usage? (you can guess I've had both happen recently) My lone disappointment (so far) has been the lack of syncing up clubs. When I go onto the My Flightscope web page and see my data, I only see it organized by sessions. It would be nice if it would allow me to map my bag - and compare all my 7 irons to each other, keeping a running average, rather than just seeing the 7 iron in todays session, then having to open last week's session... It is like the clubs and their data are not linked to one another. That may be a little persnickety of me, but I expected it. Otherwise it is quite the package. I had a weird experience today - see if anyone else has this - when the data uploaded to the cloud it replicated all of my driver and gap wedge shots three times. So instead of 12 drivers, there are 36... three identical of each shot. Doesn't really change anything, just weird. And it uploaded the 7 irons (in the middle) correctly. I am most impressed (so far) with the ability to shoot video with your iPhone and have it sync up and add the data blocks etc. I used that the other day for my Rypstick swing analysis. The jury is still out having your numbers reported to my Apple watch. On the plus side, I can switch clubs on the watch and since I'm curious about club head speed its nice to see those numbers right there on my wrist. On the negative side, I can't (or can't figure out how to...) wake up the radar if it goes to sleep. I had some missed shots today (I am blaming the external battery) and I was working on a specific drill I got from Rypstick so was taking my time and the radar would go to sleep. Well, I have to wake it up from my iPhone, which I had sitting by my bag behind the Mevo+. I know, I know, such first world problems, how will I ever survive.... but hey if you are going to build the feature, you ought to have it be the best it can be... 2 Quote Walking ahead of my BagBoy QuadXL w Alphard eWheels Driver: Callaway Mavrik SubZero 9* Neutral w stock Evenflow Riptide R flex shaft 3W Titelist TS2 15* Draw w Tensei Blue R flex 3H, 4H Cobra One Length F9 Speedback hybrids (1”short) w Fujikura Atmos R flex shaft 5I-GW Cobra Forged TEC Black One Length (1”short, 2* flat) KBS 90 R flex shafts 56, 60 Cobra King MIM One Length Black (1” short) KBS HiRev2.0 125 S flex shafts ER7 or Scotty Futura X - 35” OnCore Elixr (lemon or lime)
wegolfs
Hi Everyone, I just saw this thread so I’m hoping that someone can share their experiences with Mevo+ in relation to: Use at a busy driving range - do you ever encounter misreads due to other players and/or golf balls in flight? My regular range has small bays, just wide enough to swing without interfering with your neighbours, and it is almost always full. Measuring Angle of Attack. This is one of the primary reasons I’m interested in Mevo+ so I’d be disappointed if it doesn’t read consistently. Thanks in advance! I've used at an outdoor range in the evening - probably not as close are yours are - its outside off grass so they have to give people space to move around as they take divots. But I've had people on either side and haven't had issues. That said, I have read other forums where people have had some issues where the Mevo would occasionally act on another person's ball. I would think the key to avoid this is being careful with your set up. Making sure your distance from device to ball is correct, and correctly marked in the app (you can go into the app and set the precise distance); that the target alignment is set correctly (you can go into the app and see a camera view with a target line), and the side to side roll. I will admit, after I've taken a line of divots I sometimes am too lazy to move and reset the Mevo. When I get out of the preset box i can miss some shots. 23 hours ago, wegolfs said: Measuring Angle of Attack. I'm not very consistent (I'm fighting a casting move...) so I may not be the best judge. I get AOA reading on all my clubs - except maybe for my wedges. Those numbers appear in grey (as opposed to solid black) and at the bottom it says "for wedge type of club this parameter can not be calculated properly" (actually it says "can be not" but will forgive their grammar teacher) . I don't know what a good AOA is for my irons to judge it against. I know I should have a neutral to positive AOA for my driver. Looking at my data, my bad drives have a negative AOA, and my good drives slightly positive AOA. Looking at yesterday's 7 iron I had a couple terrible shots that had a -5.7 and a -6.1 AOA (clearly way to steep) and my good shots were somewhere between -2.5 to -4. I thought that was an interesting questions - made we wonder how the Mevo+ determines it - is it just a math calculation? Because the Mevo sits behind the ball I'm not sure how it would actually measure it. So I posted my question on how is it determined to "Golf Simulator Forum". I've posted many newbie questions and have always gotten answers. So far, 47 views of the post, 0 answers. I'll repost here if I learn anything. Sorry, I'm not much help. There is a new firmware update coming out 5/5/21 - I did see that posted on the other forum. Regarding AoA measurement, I hit off of mats the majority of the time and I have trouble seeing ball flight from more than 160 yards out. This means that I need a launch monitor that measures AoA to practice effectively using anything longer than an 8 iron. For context, my AoA with irons averaged -7.5 and the driver was -4.5 in a recent Trackman session. I’d like to get the driver to neutral/positive and the irons to -4 (ish). Doing so should improve my long game, which is my biggest weakness despite my swing speed. The Mevo+ uses Doppler like a typical launch monitor, while the Skytrak is a multi camera unit, similar to a gc quad. At this point, I am preferring the Skytrak as you can have it much closer to you and it seems more accurate (check this vid for comparison: ). Technically, yes... but as @ejgaudettesaid, the sunlight causes havoc with the Skytrack lens. Lots of experiences on Golf Simulator Forum: https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/skytrak/68964-using-skytrak-outside-sunlight If it was known to work well outside, I would have purchased it because it requires less space for a set up. But my research led me to go with the Mevo+ (I can't swing a club inside, so I have to be outside) As with anything, your mileage may vary, but there is a reason their website advertizes themselves as "the ultimate indoor launch monitor"... Would love to hear some more thoughts on this I’d prefer to go with a camera-based system as I will eventually use the launch monitor indoors, however the SkyTrak wouldn’t be my first choice as: It doesn’t measure Angle of Attack which is a must-have for me. Reviewers have indicated that higher swing speed players won’t get accurate readings. I’m not sure if this is still a problem, but I’d be heartbroken if this were still true. For reference, I swing 6 iron at 92 MPH and Driver is around 113 MPH. Given this, the only optical systems that appear to be viable are GCQuad or GC2. I can’t justify the investment in either of those at this time though I’d love to have the path and face-to-path measurements as well. From what I’ve read about the higher swing speeds, it looks like it starts to become an issue at around ball speeds of 160ish. I would guess this is due to the frame rates of the cameras they are using as they are only 300fps as far as I can tell. I have heard of some manufacturers starting to use doplar as well as cameras like the ES Tour Plus. That comes in at around $2,700 but I haven’t done much research into it. Looks like this one won’t be very good outside though either Edited May 5, 2021 by SkilledByDesign Quote Obsessed with the game
wegolfs
Adding some notes related to my experience with Mevo+ this week: Par2Pro’s customer service is fantastic though their website needs improvement. Mevo+ unboxing is marred by the cheap plastic wrap on the unit. My wife thought it was a cheap toy. Initial setup should be done at home using FS Golf app. I tried FS Skills first and had issues with the firmware update (resolved by launching FS Golf from another device). Flightscope support is frustrating. They didn’t reply to chat requests on their website and email responses only came after I inquired on Instagram. Mevo+ is very close to Trackman at the range provided that the radar settings are correct. It must be 8 feet from the ball and the hitting surface height has to be exact. Also, FS Golf requires the tilt angle to be 18 degrees - it will not display an error if it’s not, but the numbers will be off. An external battery pack is necessary for lengthy practice sessions or a day on the course. I’m heading out to the range to try FS Skills today and will try E6 on Monday. 2 Quote WITB: Epic Max Dr, SIM Ti 3w, TSi3 20 hybrid, Mavrik Pro (2 weak), MD5 53 & 58, Tuttle Flow putter Mevo+
wegolfs
Mevo+ didn’t work so well at the other range today. Notes below: AoA values don’t seem to register correctly unless the Tee/hitting surface height is exact. The mats were between 1.33 and 1.5 inches off the ground so I had to choose either 1 or 2 inches in settings as there’s no option to specify fractional values. As a result the AoA figures were off with values typically ranging from -10 to -13 vs the normal -7 to -8. FS Skills didn’t seem to like the tee height and/or tilt as some shots were missed. Those that did register weren’t very good but it was definitely my fault. I’ll try FS Skills and E6 at my regular range next week and if weather permits I’ll try a net. I do find it a bit odd trying to hit virtual targets but I’m sure I’ll get used to it over time. At this point in time I’d say that Mevo+ is useful for practice provided that your typically hitting area(s) fall in line with the required setup. This means: 8 feet from Mevo+ to ball Either a completely flat surface between the Mevo+ and ball OR an elevated hitting mat that is either 1, 2, or 3 inches above the unit Feel free to post any questions and I’ll do my best to answer. Note that I don’t have a net at home so I’ll be testing outdoors at the range. 1 Quote WITB: Epic Max Dr, SIM Ti 3w, TSi3 20 hybrid, Mavrik Pro (2 weak), MD5 53 & 58, Tuttle Flow putter Mevo+
wegolfs
Some additional observations from my driver AoA training session with Mevo+ and FS Golf at the range today: It’s quite good at picking up shots! The only one that didn’t register was the one I almost topped so it saved me the time deleting the outlier. AoA readings appear for the majority of shots. Only 3 of 120 didn’t have an AoA value. Spin rate is occasionally off. There were 7 shots with “estimated” spin rates in the set. It appears to track the ball flight up to around 250 yards (or more). There were several occasions where the ball hit the fence and FS Golf showed the carry distance as the distance to the fence (I verified this with my rangefinder). Regarding the training session, I haven’t been this excited to practice in ages. Now that I can see the data and ball flight I can focus on improving launch conditions. By the end of my session the average AoA was +4 degrees. The highest I was able to achieve was +6.1 degrees which is a huge change from my previous average of -3 degrees. I felt like I had to hold back the speed to get comfortable and I could see that I was down 6 mph. Going forward I’ll start to work on adding speed while retaining the upward AoA. 1 Quote WITB: Epic Max Dr, SIM Ti 3w, TSi3 20 hybrid, Mavrik Pro (2 weak), MD5 53 & 58, Tuttle Flow putter Mevo+
