Gsi10561
Everyone gets a cart. I’ve played with a 2,3 & 4 in my group. Fastest rounds of golf I’ve been able to play in years. With no raking, the bunkers have also become a real penalty if you go in the sand. When we let someone play through it takes little to no time before we tee off. This is a part of golf I hope stays. I’m playing mostly public courses. Quote Taylormade Woods Cobra Hybrid Hogan Irons HiToe Wedges Spider Putter Snell MTBX golf balls Link to comment
null
More people walking is there best part Good for pace of play Good for people's health Better for course maintenance Better for the environment Can't imagine the wear and tear 4 carts per group puts on the turf LeftyRM7, Rickp, KristianC and 1 other 4 Quote Link to comment
Middler
I posted earlier but I love the shallow cups - I think they’re just inserting the cups upside down. Now with pins staying in I wish they’d leave them shallow like that year round but I’m not holding my breath. I’ve been walking nine for several weeks, but I walked eighteen on Wed. I expected to be incapacitated the next day, but I wasn’t. Pleasantly surprised. And like others it doesn’t seem any slower than with carts. My sore feet will be happy to see carts again, but I can manage walking as long as necessary. silver & black
My home course is extremely hard to get on during this. It is waaaayyyy slower than normal because of the sheer numbers of people out there. It's the only thing anyone is allowed to do. You will wait at least 30 - 45 minutes to get on. When you do... be prepared to spend 5.5 - 6 hours to play 18. It's okay.... it isn't like I was doing anything anyway...lol. Edited April 24, 2020 by silver & black Middler 1 Quote Link to comment
LeftyRM7
My club went to 20 minute tee times to help with cart shortages with everyone getting a cart and they’re booked solid most days. I usually play alone and I’d rather walk so I can play whenever I want in between the standard tee times. Pace is also great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote Link to comment
bens197
People are walking! It was so nice to pull into the course I play most often and see foursomes of walkers throughout the property. Before the shutdown, we were playing with everyone gets a cart. I couldn't even ride with my wife!! I thought... Great, but pace of play was no different. It's a muni so that's expected. Probably be the same when we get to open... if we do. silver & black 1 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.” Link to comment

I'm fortunate that a couple courses near me have stayed open during this time. To be honest, I've played more golf during this time than any other time because all of my kid's weekend activities have been cancelled and my saturday mornings are now free. I don't ride in any carts anymore and walk every time I play and I LOVE IT! With raised cups, not having to move the pin, rake the bunkers, and smaller groups the rounds go faster and people playing tend to go faster.. Quote Link to comment
Gsi10561
I have no problem walking. When I lived in the mid Atlantic more of the golf courses you could walk. I live in Florida now and the majority of courses I’ve played on (private and public) have not been built with the walker in mind.
