ZenGolfer
Im a fan of bucket hats myself. A straw cowboy hat just isnt my style, its worked for Greg Norman though. Ive got a couple golf bucket hats that I bought off of Fanatics. One is an Arnold Palmer Invitational one that is khaki with a navy band around it and Ive got another for the 2020 US Open that is navy with a red band around it. I like them because they are casual, give good sun protection and are comfortable. I used to always wear either flat caps or baseball caps and those are great but I wanted something that keeps the sun off my ears and the back of my neck. As I get older, Im becoming more aware of the long-term risks of sun exposure and being a ginger, the sun effects me more than it does others. I dont know that my wife loves the bucket hats but she hasnt said anything yet, so Im guess she hates them less than she hated my flat caps. ED13
I have a few straw fedoras that I prefer to wear. My home course is always windy so I have been forced to wear a ball cap (less likely to fly off). For this I have gone to runners caps. They are light weight, breathable, washable and made to stuff in a pocket as the brim is flexible. Leave one in my bag and pull out when needed. jbsdaddy
I've had numerous skin cancers removed (Squamous Cell Carcinoma - thankfully not Melanoma), and gave up on baseball caps long ago. Over the last several years I have tried many hats, and have found a few that I really like: The Shelta Seahawk it great. I also like the Mineola Hat Store bucket hat (Amazon). I have a Stetson bucket hat being delivered today. I still use a 50 SPF sun screen (Ocean Potion) on the neck, face, ears, and arms, and sometimes wear the long sleeve SPF 30 fishing shirts.
