All wicker / mesh cowboy style like the above pictures of Greg Norman' famous hat is the best IMO. Try it and you will see and agree. Stay safe.

Jazz woods (Driver & Hybrids), TNT Silver Eagle Irons, PW & SW, Slotline Inertia putter. TopFlite Gammer.

The new Tilley aren’t as “robust” as the older offerings but still pretty darn good.
I’ve had the straw, wicker whatever but these are my go to right now.

You can only buy them at The Masters, I was there last about 4 years ago and had always wanted a Tilley, these were $90 back then.    Now they have them in Green.

edit - I agree about the new Tilleys being made of a slightly different material, my friend who has one of the green Masters Tilleys noticed it too.

If I ever run across one I’ll grab one. The olive color is currently my favorite.

I have that hat (without the Masters logo, of course).  Tilley's are pricey, but worth it.

Im a fan of bucket hats myself.  A straw cowboy hat just isnt my style, its worked for Greg Norman though.  Ive got a couple golf bucket hats that I bought off of Fanatics.  One is an Arnold Palmer Invitational one that is khaki with a navy band around it and Ive got another for the 2020 US Open that is navy with a red band around it.

I like them because they are casual, give good sun protection and are comfortable.  I used to always wear either flat caps or baseball caps and those are great but I wanted something that keeps the sun off my ears and the back of my neck.  As I get older, Im becoming more aware of the long-term risks of sun exposure and being a ginger, the sun effects me more than it does others.

I dont know that my wife loves the bucket hats but she hasnt said anything yet, so Im guess she hates them less than she hated my flat caps. LOL

Ball caps for me as well. Interesting note though, I saw two different guys wearing tilleys during my round this morning. I've never noticed anyone wearing them before but after reading this thread last night it must have been in my head to look for them.

I usually like a ball cap but I really need to start wearing something with better sun protection.

I have a few straw fedoras that I prefer to wear.  My home course is always windy so I have been forced to wear a ball cap (less likely to fly off).  For this I have gone to runners caps.  They are light weight, breathable, washable and made to stuff in a pocket as the brim is flexible.  Leave one in my bag and pull out when needed.

Melin makes a great golf hat. Expensive, but if you live in the sweltering heat, it’s worth a look!

I've had numerous skin cancers removed (Squamous Cell Carcinoma - thankfully not Melanoma),

and gave up on baseball caps long ago. Over the last several years I have tried many hats, and have found a few that I really like:

The Shelta Seahawk it great. I also like the Mineola Hat Store bucket hat (Amazon). I have a Stetson bucket hat being delivered today.

I still use a 50 SPF sun screen (Ocean Potion) on the neck, face, ears, and arms, and sometimes wear the long sleeve SPF 30 fishing shirts.

I will not give up golf.

Careful w that skin cancer. The brim hat is my choice over the ball cap for that reason.
