That's definitely a keeper, you would have to pry a driver that puts up those results out of my hands. Ping definitely knows how to make a performer without all the flash and buzz that other manufacturers do.

They certainly do! The G30 I had was performing basically ideal for my swing. I only upgraded to the M5 because I wanted a different sound/feel and it should give me a few extra yards based on my fitting.

Curious if any testers from 2018 or 2020 have measured their actual driver weight vs. actual weight of the 'red stick'. I'm using the 'senior' sticks given my slower SS, however, my actual driver weight is about 50g. heavier than the 'blue 'stick'  Kyle, who by the way is very responsive, suggested changing out the grip to add a bit of extra weight. I was also thinking of adding lead weight to take it to the 110%. Your thoughts?

Thinking about just soldering one some weight? Is it overall 10% higher Or does a specific amount need to be in the head of the red stick? I would definitely think soldering would work and be the best bet

Back to the weight thing - I never bothered to weigh my driver because there’s a club’s actual weight and it’s swing weight.

I doubt my ability to successfully find my driver’s actual weight and trust that it’s swing weight is D4. Ay least it was when my fitter checked it for me pre COVID.

Kenny and I went back and forth on this quite a bit. I love the guy but we are wired differently - the weight thing never bothered me.

On a similar note though my 410 feels lighter to me than my G400 LST did. I actually wonder if I wouldn’t benefit from the yellow stick.

The grass always seems greener you know.

She's spot on with the same percentage increases. She started at a slower swing speed but continues to improve every week.

Here's Kyle's response to the 'added weight' question - I'm going to stick with the current configuration:

"Hi Tony, our red club is actually only 336 grams total which is the heaviest in the men’s set. I’d like you to stick with the way the set is designed that you have currently. If you add any further weight there is a very high chance that you’ll actually train your swing to be slower. The key in OverSpeed training is light weight to reset how fast the brain tells the body to make the golf swing. I’ve seen over 50,000 golfers use this system so I’m going off of the experience I have here to get you the best results.
I appreciate your willingness to want to get this right"

Sooo I got a hard “no” from my wife on swinging in the house... to be fair, I have broken a light fixture on more than one occasion from swinging inside, so there is that. LOl

She tried to speak to my ego though. She said, “You know you won’t be able to swing as fast and hard as you really can inside vs outside.”

Played 18 this morning and figured things our with the driver about 1/3 of the way through the round. And I absolutely started pounding the ball.
Week 2 is a compete and rather than posting the same spreadsheet week to week I thought I'd mix things up.

I really was hitting my 3 wood and hybrid well today and when I got home I took some swings on the launch monitor to confirm what I was seeing on the course.
I play a 21* head, lofted down to 20* and 1/4 of an inch shorter than the standard 3 hybrid. Typical carry has always been about 225 to 230.
Not anymore

Your back and forth on the weights and conversation on this thread caught my interest.  Iv'e been playing the G400 for a while and love it, played the 410 for a month while waiting on a replacement for my 400 (it cracked last summer) and I have been debating on 'upgrading' to the 410, but like you, the consistency I have with my G400 has me not wanting to take any chances.  Anyway, it sounds like we have a very similar set-up, so no I may consider adding a heavier grip or some lead tape to the heads of my sticks as well to cover any weight difference; maybe I should get a scale first, but it sounds like you have provided some sound data for me to work with.  I wondered about that form the beginning;  Thanks for posting this and for the associated conversation.  So many moving parts...

Whelp, I went to do my normal leg workout. Did my first 3 sets of back squats just fine. As I was racking one of the weight plates I felt a pop in my lower back along my spine and hit the floor. Every step hurts now.

Trust me, no powering through this. I can hardly move without it hurting, much less swing a stick at Mach 1. I’m just extremely frustrated. Injuries are a part of life and I’ve had my share, but it is never fun.

I get it, it’s sucks. Missed what should have been my second season playing due to hernia issues. Just telling you what you already know...see a doc and get it taken care of before it becomes a permanent part of your life. My two cents; I feel for you man...

Just a little week 2 update.
I saw a nice little jump in my initial swing speed! Week 1, my initial swing speed was in the ball park of 100-103. Week 2, my initial swing speed each day was 108.
My regiment speeds and after regiment speeds stayed about the same, but definitely an increase in before speed. 👍🏻

Has anyone asked Kyle what Superspeed’s rebuttal to the blue club challenge would be?

Take care of yourself ChasingScratch - we had someone in our group go down and fall behind - it was no big deal in the long run.

Also your wife was correct about being faster outside than inside, grass or first allow you to use the ground much better than synthetic surfaces.

That's quite a difference. My 410 is about 350g and that's with a 65g shaft and MCC+4 grip. I wonder if I'm not getting the result of using a heavier stick? Thx for the quick reply . @Kenny B your thoughts?

Oh and BTW, I love my 410 driver so not interested in changing it out.

From what I was told, Kyle goes by your driver swing speed and generally thinks most people with low swing speed will be using a light-weight driver. SSG standard for the Men's set is based off a driver that is 312-315g.  My driver at the time was 336g; btw my current driver is 330g.

I also checked my wife's driver with a 50g L flex shaft and it weighed 306g or 5 grams more than the Blue stick, so their 20%lighter, 10% lighter, 5% heavier standard doesn't work for ladies either.

I started with the Yellow, Green, Blue set which was fine to start with, but as I progressed the Green stick was as fast as the Yellow stick, and I couldn't get the Yellow stick any faster.  SSG sent me the Red stick and I used the Green, Blue, and Red starting at Week 9.

Don't think that the SSG sticks are anywhere close to the swingweight of your driver.  The Blue stick is B6, the Red stick is E1, and the others don't register at all.  That may be why I didn't swing the Yellow stick every well and have trouble with any light weight drivers.

I can't argue with the results of the SSG protocol, even if the stick weights don't measure up to the standard.  I gained speed using the Senior set and continued to gain speed with the men's set.  What I don't know is whether or not I would have seen the same improvement as I got only using the Senior set.  But I know that I prefer heavier clubs; helps with swing plane.

Played 18 this morning and figured things out with the driver about 1/3 of the way through the round.

Not anymore

And my Ping G410 LST 3 Wood that carries about 244-248 off the deck?

I hear yea. Couldn’t control the face on my driver today, hitting high weak push fades again. Just started phase 2.

So I put it away and hit a 4 iron off the tee all day. Did it matter? Nope, since I was hitting it 235 carry. On 18 my buddy hit a weak slap shot drive high and right like 245, then cursed again as I hit my best 4 iron of the day 10 yards FURTHER than his drive.

Whelp, I went to do my normal leg workout. Did my first 3 sets of back squats just fine. As I was racking one of the weight plates I felt a pop in my lower back along my spine and hit the floor. Every step hurts now.

This sucks.

Mate, fingers crossed it's something that can be fixed with a couple of weeks of rest. In the meantime you can join me on the sidelines enjoying the tests without putting in the work 😁😎
