Well that was interesting.....

@SuperSpeed Golf had recommended I do the "Advanced Speed Protocol 3" once per week in place of a normal level 3 protocol. This protocol is all dominant side, standing swings only. They call it a sprint, but you are supposed to rip off 8 consecutive (really hard) swings as quickly as you can. Light, medium, heavy, then repeat light. This protocol is supposed to help with lag. Tonight was the first night of this. I learned my balance is terrible - resetting to do another hard swing quickly wasn't nearly as easy as they make it look in the demo video. I might have to post a video of it for giggles so you can compare them and me.

Question for SuperSpeed: I assume I am still supposed to do the 5 before and after driver swings?

Really enjoyed your write-up and review.  It definitely resonated with me and I was surprised how much so.

I'm originally from Akron, Ohio.  I'm 54 and work out at least twice a week and am in better than average shape for my age, though I fight lower back issues too.

My swing speed hangs around 94-98mph, hitting 100+ every now & then.

I've  been eyeing the SuperSpeed system for a while - based on your review, I'm sold.  I'm hoping to win the one here on Sept 12th, if not - I'm buying it.

Thanks for taking the time and dedication to see it through to fruition.

Be sure to join in the fun here once you have those sticks. It helps to have an “accountability” group while doing the workouts.

Good luck and welcome to the couple from a member of the first tester group.

Had my second session of week 5 yesterday. Had a few normal green stick swings back up at 140mph and blue seems to be back up to the 131mph consistently with the normal swing again.

I’m planning on hitting on GC Quad on the 12th to see what’s what.

Also playing a round today (first round since June 30th with no practice in between). The course has a few holes where I can swing as hard as I want without any trouble, so we will see what I can do.

I haven't been posting my results mainly because I'm still in the intro protocol for another two weeks and because I'm really more interested in what others have to say. I'm only five weeks in and I took a week off when my back was in some pain. I just want to share that I'm a senior in my late 60s and I've lost a lot of speed in the last several years. In July, I checked my clubhead speed with my driver and it was 75-79 mph. I even took out an old Callaway Razr Hawk driver that is my wife's old driver and only swung it at 78-79 mph! I looked at my old data from 2016 and found my 9 iron was 78-79 mph at that time. I got the Super Speed system and a Swing Speed Radar. I had a hard time the first session getting the GREEN club to 80 mph. Now five weeks in, I have the yellow and green club hitting 101-102 and the blue club going 99-100. I checked my Ping G30 and am swinging it around 89-91 mph. That's easily 10 mph +. Like so many have said, I find this system works, even for old guys.

It looks like a good day to play golf!

Alright, played yesterday and I definitely was hitting the center of the club more consistently and squaring the face up at impact.  Fairways and course in general were soggy from all the rain we had so not much roll out on drives.

Highlights:

Hole 2: 170yd par 3: 8iron hole high

Hole 6: 190yd approach, 7iron long

Hole 7: 487yd par 5: only had 170 in (317yd drive right up the middle)

Hole 9: 391yd par 4:  70yd approach into the green (320yd drive up the middle)

Hole 13: 545yd par 5: 190yds approach into the green (355yd drive up the middle)

Now putting..... that's another issue lol.  Might be time for the Cleveland Frontline Elevado that I reviewed for MGS to make a return to the bag... That or I just need to actually practice some.

I had to put new brakes on the wife’s ride yesterday.  Took it to work, where the SuperSpeed system was waiting for me. So I worked on myself before working on the car, only fair right?

Got 130 green.

Today I went to the range, after some trial and error I adjusted my driver up to the 10.5° setting from the 9° setting.... I don’t think I have ever been so consistent and confident with the driver.  It is usually a aim fire and yell fore right for me.  But... today, it was landing on a blanket but maybe two car sized area.  Super impressed with the speed drills, but more so the accuracy that is coming along with it.

The lofting up slightly made them go out far enough that I lost sight of them. Too bad the course was overbooked and overrun, I would have loved to take it out there and see what I could have shot... maybe some afternoon this week.

Nice review sir.  I'd venture to say that you like SuperSpeed overall.... maybe just a little bit. 😜

Your results were solid and it is fun to see the payoff on the course.  I've still got 3 weeks to go to finish up my Level 2, but the last round I played I didn't have a single drive under 300yds and the fairways were on the softer side.  Needless to say, I'm pleased as well.

Are you going to continue on with Level 3 immediately or take some time off?

Level 2 - Week 5 Summary video below!

I hit a new PR with the red stick (finally).  I had a heel-stomp of 128mph and a double-step of 124mph.

Something to clarify, in my speed records (the online Google sheet) and my charts, I am only reporting the 'normal swings' and not the heel-stomp and/or double-step swings.

Taking a small break until the my oldest son goes back to daycare next week.

Will do it somewhat throughout the fall and then dive back in more in the winter

I am really happy with the improvement I saw, but I think I left some speed on the table.

Starting next week, I will be doing the advanced protocols.

I didn't see it referenced in your review, do you think you hit the second jump yet, or are in the process?

Never really hit it, which is why I am going to mix in some of the advanced protocols - specifically the ground force and rotational ones.  I hit 119mph driver speed about a month ago, but never broke 117/118 over the last month.  Now the August heat and humidity could have played a role in that, but I feel like I never really broke through that 2nd wall.

Hopefully the advanced protocols get me there.

Hamstring felt good yesterday and again today, so decided to jump back into Level 3

After the protocol today I had 5 consecutive driver swings at 117mph.

My speed is definitely becoming more sustainable and repeatable

That’s awesome. Love that slow mo gif too. Tempted to bust that swing out on the long drive hole of a scramble? Looks like you’re in a decent spot at “impact”

Great reviews everyone! Awesome to see some big numbers from all of you.

Out of curiosity, I pulled out my SuperSpeed-C club tonight and was really happy with the few swings I took. I then grabbed an old driver I keep around and hit 120 with a dry swing on the radar.

With #CC4 winding down this week, and my golf playing as well as the weather turns, I can't wait to get back into the sticks over the winter.

I've had some monster (for me) drives this summer, and SuperSpeed definitely had a huge role in helping me to get to this point.

Good review. It's well thought out and easy to follow. You have clearly become a Raving Fan! How long did it take you to stop losing shots to the right? What did you do to fix it?

Nice write up @jlukes, your success and the honest thoughts on this product really sealed the deal for me.  Everyone testing this system played a good part in it, but I enjoyed your no holds bar approach to letting us know when you didn’t like it.  Bravo Sir.

Thanks shankster. I know members who’ve never tested anything on here or first time testers might not believe that being tester allows you to be critical of the product. That’s the great part about MGS testing - it’s all about being honest and thorough rather than being a product cheerleader.

SuperSpeed training is akin to a baby going from crawling to walking. Sure, the baby will stumble and fall, but then he will figure out to sync up the different parts of his body to take smooth steps.

reading through this thread has me wondering if SS Training can get me flirting with 150mph with my driver.

i don’t think it’s necessary, my speed as is presents problems, but it’s fun to think about

It is most certainly not a straight line and it takes a hang in there mindset.

This has been a brutal weather week. Any time that I’ve had to do a work has been when it was raining. It’s funny how this works for us - the rainy season starts late May to early June with a week of tremendous rain and then ends in September with a repeat. I’m hopeful that this is it.
