I've noticed a much higher flight than normal on the golf course from my driver over the last few rounds and I finally got on a launch monitor over the weekend.  It was only a GC2 so I could not get club information, but it confirmed that my launch and spin are up due to my increased spin.
After trading some emails with my fitter and instructor, I scored a G410 LST head to try (currently gaming a G410 Plus head).  The more forward CG of the LST should help lower my spin and launch into a better window with my new speed.  Excited to get it on the course.
Really interesting webinar from SuperSpeed on how new speed impacts club fitting.  Sounds about right based on what has happened with me!
https://superspeedgolf.com/blogs/news/webinar-8-how-new-speed-gains-affect-club-fitting

I enjoyed that webinar as well. SuperSpeed puts on phenomenal informationals.

I game the G400 LST. It’s a beast! I think you’ll like it.

Yup that's correct, but keep in mind these are speeds for the SuperSpeed sticks. My driver swing speed has increased from the high 70's to low-mid 80's. I'm focused and set a goal of getting my driver SS up to 90. Kinda ho-hum for the young guys on this thread - but pretty big deal for me.

Tony I think it's terrific and I'm happy for you. Golf has to be so much more fun when you can reach the greens.

I skipped a session over the weekend because I was playing too much golf and couldn't figure out where to fit in the session. I spent 8 hours in a car today then did the workout. Not bad, but not great. Week 7 is done, though.

I need to spend more time at the range to sort out the faster backswing. I started bad on Friday with the quicker backswing - I was pulling things really bad, so I reverted back to the slower backswing to get some more control and have a better idea what was going to happen. It had a noticeable effect on my distance as most of my decent drives were in the low end of my Arccos smart range. I know the potential is there, just have to figure it out.

Kneeling swings are rough! Just a fyi do recommend the rain gloves for them. Swung good and hard and slipped a bit both grip and knee placement which did not feel good, but all is okay!

Here is something we should all be reminded of.  According to the @SuperSpeed Golf peaks/plateaus graph, we most likely will not see any major jumps again until the 4th-6th months of training (if I'm interpreting the graph correctly).  Since most saw a speed jump of 5-12mph after the first protocol, we're in the plateau phase for pretty much all of Level 2.  So let's stay the course, keep swinging fast, and enjoy the process.  That way we can make those gains permanent!  No one ever said this would be easy.  Persistence is key.

Oh I have 100% been frustrated, but that is just because I’m hyper-competitive with myself lol.

Thus why I posted this as a reminder to myself first and foremost.

She started out (Yellow-Green-Blue) at 71-68-64 and most recently her numbers were 83-73-70. FYI, keep in mind she's 74 (don't let her know I told you) and is very diligent about working on her game. She like I, started playing after we retired.

Well that depends. Prime at what? Your driving distance might decrease but your short game and putting never has an prime limit. I know an elderly gentleman who recently shot his age all because of his phenomenal wedge game.

Us elderly gentlemen have to have a great short game.  If I can improve mine just a little bit, I have a shot at shooting my age.

Good point. In this case I’m discussing prime athletic explosive capacity (speed, explosiveness, etc.). It’s pretty well established that this peak ends around 25-26yrs (definitely on the downhill at 30) for human males.

The good thing about golf is that it doesn’t not solely rely on athleticism (as you pointed out). Short game and putting are the great equalizers. It is very much a skill sport.

My main frustration right now is that I'm getting driver and speed stick readings (all of them) down where I started the protocol.  Not where I should be during a plateau of the "new normal" for my gains that I made from Level 1.

For example, this 3rd week of Level 2, the driver swings at the end of the sessions have maxed at 120 (while hitting 119 several times as well). From my pre-test, I was hitting 119 over and over and then maxed one time with 124mph.

Same for the green, blue, and red sticks.  I'm getting readings of 130/131 with green, 120 with blue, and 117-119 with red (all what they were during the first few protocols in Level 1).

Here is the chart of each day so far:

SuperSpeed chart throgh day 26 level 2 week 3.png

I'm going to see if going back to doing massive cut path swings with the sticks changes the readings.  I remember from the end of Level 1 that a cut path swing was reading higher.  Looking at my data, it looks like I haven't gained any speed with the sticks or driver since the start, but again, GC Quad says otherwise.

Stay the course man stay the course!

I'm the prime example of this! At 31 with a balky back I'm down to a 4.1 hcp with an average 240 drive but very good wedge and putting.  Working on improving the iron game but still, when I go for distance I get in trouble
