They're making a movie of Y? With Shia LaBeouf? First of all, there are 10 freaking books! You can't make that 1 movie. Second, Shia LaBeouf? Is that the best they could do?

What range? I don't like him, he always tries to act tough but I can't get Even Stevens out of my head. He is not tough looking!

He couldn't have had those kind of qualms before he destroyed the Indiana Jones franchise? In fairness, he had lots of help destroying that one...

Ok, so my first round of the year was at Chambers Bay, and we only played the 6400 yd tees. I managed my normal 83, but had to finish birdie, birdie to do it. Shot 46-37. too many 3 putts. I NEED A PUTTER, or perhaps a designated putter. Is that legal?? I call in the DP.

Back to back birdies? You're borderline buddy!!

His best friend in Transformers is a yellow car...

He should be hated for the Megan Fox factor alone...

First time out with the new grip and setup (adjustments stemming from my first session at GolfTEC). Just played nine holes and shot a 46. Considering the major changes, I'm pretty pleased with the effort.

I hit some pretty damn good iron shots, which has been my Achilles heel in the past. My short game was horrible. That was the toughest part of the swing changes. The new grip has impacted my touch with my wedges on chips and short pitches - at least until I get used to it. But, that will come around with time.

Honestly, I expected to play horribly so the fact that I could go out and enjoy myself while still making changes for the better was really encouraging.

That was an anomoly. Hit it to 6 feet on a short par 3, and somehow managed to shake it in, then hit 2 really good shots on a mid length par 5, and didn't 3 whack it. Small victory for me.

Both. I'm having trouble with grip tension with the strong grip they've given me. I just to relax my hands but its easier said than done.

Because you hate yellow, you had to look at yellow the whole round. Seems like you would want to lose all the balls.

Actually, they are a combination of green and yellow - not Canary (traditional) yellow. Hard to explain but different enough for them to get a pass.

It's nice that there's a forum that's friendly to players who aren't that good. I'm just starting out. I think there's a lot I can learn from these boards.

Same here... I'm not that great, but I love the game, and feel welcome here...

That is why we set up this thread to hide from the good players ;)

The sad thing is that I will play the exact same way in August. There is no early, mid and late season for me. It is all bad.

We played Golf Club of Illinois. I started my work day early so I was able to get in a quick late afternoon round.

Funny thing... some holes on the course border a residential street. This one car kept driving by with a bunch of guys Jamo's age and they kept yelling "Homo" and "Queer" out of the car in the middle of our back swings. They did it a couple of times on and off to the point that one of my playing partners who is a good friend of mine decided he had enough. He started walking towards the car. The kids held their ground yelling things back and forth and then decided the better of it and drove off. I thought for a minute there I would have to get in the middle.

That's terrible. Sometimes you wonder who the parents of these kids are. I kinda wish your buddy had gotten his hands on them, though legally that would be a mess.

You ain't kidding. A police cruiser passed by a few minutes after they drove off. I could just hear the headline now... "Two Algonquin men were arrested Friday afternoon after mauling several local High School Students. The story on this shocking altercation at 10 o'clock."

No, it isn't. I'm sure the wife would have loved to have bailed me out last night. And no posting from jail (gasp).

"Their car was found two blocks away with a 6 iron smashed through the roof. At first glance, some thought Tiger Woods had been in town, but upon later examination, it was a Taylor Made Burner."
