Planning on getting some new Sub70 699's with the Project X Rifle shafts. But my main question is grips. Currently I have the midsize Golf Pride Core Grips, which are great but want to get the MC for the new clubs.

What are y'all's thoughts? What grips have you tried and why you like/dislike them?

I'm actually getting ready to head out for my first round of the year with some Sub70 699's. I am a Multi compound grip guy. I don't care to play any other style. Currently have some generic MCC grips on them. I have the t200 irons coming for testing and have GP MCC grips on them as well.

Awesome let me know how they hit!

Im looking into the MCC grips myself. All my grips are Golf Pride so I'm weary to venture outside of that comfort zone.

Well I gotta be honest and say there wasn't anything I disliked about them. I was using a TM TP5 ball and the ball just melted off the face and took off like a rocket. Nice high trajectory without ballooning into the 15mph wind I played in. I also had zero problems holding the greens (the couple I hit anyways lol). Mine are shafted with DG130 S300 for reference.

Ive always been a fan of Golf Pride Tour Wrap grips.  I love the oldschool look and love the way they feel.  I know that I probably should switch to a cord grip for the humid weather during the summer but I just love me a wrap grip.

I demoed the 6 & 9 irons and, like you, really couldn't find many things wrong with them. Only mild complaint was I over hit some greens, but that isn't a legit problem haha.

Good to hear you liked them!

I absolutely love the feel of slightly tacky leather slip on grips.  I believe there is no finer grip than the BestGrips Microperf club grip.  My preference is the Augusta limited edition Microperf.  Best part of this grip is that they last for a very long time.  I am into my 4th season with my grips on my irons and LW and they're still going strong.  These may last another 4 years easily (expect I might be changing clubs soon - new Hogan Icon irons).

Kind of an illusion.  These are pro taper so that means less taper from butt to end.  These might be slightly larger than standard grips.  BestGrips recommends using the undersized model for the standard grip size.  The standard grip is slightly oversized.  These are around $20/per grip so they're not cheap.  But they last .... and last ..... and last ....... and last.  They're worth every penny.  My hands do not slip with moisture, even if it is drizzling.  Totally awesome grips and even better people and customer support.

This is a reasonably new grip post, so I'll chime in again.  I had the original New Decade MC grips when they were pretty new, maybe 15 years or so back.  I liked them, they did really well during a rain-filled trip to Ireland.  But then I tried Iomic grips, and I've never thought about trying anything else.  I'm currently using the X-Evolution grip.  The material stays tacky-feeling for a long time, even when wear spots develop.  I've had them on for three years in some cases, playing close to 80 rounds a year.  I've got nothing bad to say about any other grips, but Iomic is going to be my choice for the foreseeable future.

Tour Velvet 360 for me. I prefer to use the club face to align my hands and I don't have to worry about logos or anything stupid when I tinker with adjustable clubs. Great mixture of feel, texture, and resistance to moisture. I've contemplated switching to the Tour Velvet Cord or Multi-compound, but I have yet to do it.

Yep. I put the Pure Grip logo on the back side so I don't feel like I need to use it to align my grip. I hate logos on grips.

I've been using mainly Lamkin Crosslines for the past 5 years.  They work well for me in humid and dry conditions, and have proven to be durable (two full seasons of use).

My new wedges have GP MCC's so I will use those until they need to be replaced, and I'm toying with going mid-size on my Driver and maybe 5-wood, but we'll see.

I bought a TM hybrid recently that came with a GP Tour Velvet 360.  I'm definitely in love with it compared to the generic grips that came on the rest of my clubs.  Outside of the stock Odyssey grip on my putter, the Tour 360 is the grip I've tried.  The feel is super nice!  Before I lose my discount I'm going to order a full set of Tour Velvet Aligns for the rest of my bag.

Something to consider, you can get a "rib-core" version of the standard Tour Velvet for substantially less than the Align model.  As far as I know, they do the same thing, produce a slight rub along the bottom of the club to help consistent placement of your hands on the club.  The rib is simply the old (and not Trademarked and not marketed and not higher-priced) method of providing that reminder rib.

I never thought about that until you mentioned it. Moving the logo on the backside does prevent aligning my hands properly. Especially if the logo is just off everything else will be offset. I will have to remember that next time i re-grip my clubs. Hell i will have to remember that when I play next time so that I don't line up my hands incorrectly!!

That's why I loved these grips, I used them for years. But I got tired of not getting through the season without having to regrip.
