Chrisincarlsbad 0
I just bought some MP20 with Modus Tour 105 X flex. I have been playing KBS Tour 120 S. Does anyone have experience how a lighter shaft with x flex compares to a heavier shaft that is stiff flex? Does anybody have any feed back on these? I have not been able to hit them because courses are closed.
RickyBobby_PR 4,780
It’s a lot more than just weight and flex. The modus 105 is a different profile than the 120. Both are good shafts but for some that much drop in weight could be an issue in feel, club face control and possible launch. The midsection of the 120 is much stiffer. 105 120 1 Quote Driver: SIM 9 Motore X F1 7X tipped 1 inch Utility Iron: Cobra King Utility irons 18 degree Aldila rogue 90 X Irons: Cobra King forged CB 4-PW KBS $ Taper 130 X Wedges: Cleveland 49,52.58.64 Putter: Kronos Release. RobotDoctor 203
Would that mean that the 105 shaft would be easier to load than the 120 shaft?

Weight is timing and control to maximize consistency of delivery. Also x and s flexes are not consistent from one manufacturer to the next. It doesn't matter what it says if it works. A lot of times, lighter and stiffer are used to offset the effects of going longer. Longer shafts increase swingweight so a lighter shaft offsets that. Plus, longer makes the club play softer than stated by 1/4 or 1/2 a flex.
scooterhd2 490
The Modus 105 in X flex is actually 112 grams. Not as big a weight difference as you might assume. rapatt95 0
105x played slightly softer and lighter to me than the CTaper Lite 115x I’m using now. It’s a very smooth shaft and it didn’t feel like it lost control if I tried to step on one.
