Brian A
So I am waiting for my Ping G30 driver shaft to crack off again, I can hear it in the shaft. So I what I cant decide is get a new shaft or new driver. I was hitting the TS2 with HZRDUS Smoke Black 70 and the shaft seemed to work well for me. So I found the same shaft on Ebay for $79, would that shaft feel the same on the G30 head or be completely different Quote Driver: G425 9* Hzrdus Smoke Green Small batch 6.5 70g Fairway Wood: Cobra Radspeed Big 3 Hzrdus Smoke Black 6.5 Hybrid: Cobra Aerojet 5 Wood Hzrdus Smoke Black 6.5 Irons: T200 (4-AW) AMT Black Stiff Shafts Wedges: Tour Rack 56* 60* Putter: Scotty Cameron Golo 5 Right Handed Pittsburgh, PA

So I found the same shaft on Ebay for $79, would that shaft feel the same on the G30 head or be completely different Feel is very subjective. I don’t feel much in my swing so for me it would probably feel close to the same. Some are very sensitive to changes and it may feel completely different. The things to consider are the shaft length, shaft weight, and head weight (I am not talking about swing weight). The smoke black is generally considered a stiff boards feeling shaft. I have one in my 3 wood and I like it. The bigger question would be about performance and how your G30 will perform with the shaft. And the question I didn’t ask is what is the current shaft in your driver. Without knowing that it is not possible to identify the profile differences. RickyBobby_PR
Pings heads tend to be on the heavier side. The shaft may feel the same but when paired with another head the overall feel may change. The weight may feel different or the balance of the club. The performance characteristics will possibly change between what you had seen in the ts2 compared to the g30. which version of the g30 do you have? Cnosil hit on the specs aspect as well as what are the lofts in your g30 vs the ts2? Was the weight in the ts2 set to neutral, fade or draw? cnosil and TR1PTIK 2 Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1
Brian A
I have the G30 SFT, it is the standard TFC 419D X Stiff shaft that came with it. I do have a higher swing speed(like 105ish), probably not X Stiff but when the first shaft cracked at hosel this was a free shaft I got. My main problem is a strong slice. That shaft iirc is a lightweight mid or high spin shaft, whereas the smoke black like cnosil mentioned is a different profile. The smoke black is an update to the original hzrdus black that’s been softened a little bit to improve feel while maintains the low launch/low spin profile. For some the black is boardy and other like it. It’s designed for higher swing speed golfer with quick transition. As for the heads your sft is designed in manner to produce a straighter ball flight and iirc reduce spin. The ts2 is a “higher” spin head compared to the ts3 and designed for more forgiveness similar to the standard g30 or g400/g410 as other ping examples. the smoke black profile sounds like it would fit you. Based on what you have in the G30 the feel is probably going to be different than your current setup, may be a good thing but might not. for $79 it’s not a bad experiment. There’s a point where too much is bad just like too little is bad. without any launch monitor data it would be hard to say you want/need less spin. Brian A
Shaft finally cracked, ended up going with the TS2 and smoke shaft.
