2020 official member review: Bag Boy Chiller Cart Bag Review

I don't think I've ever had a Bag Boy Bag before.  My last few have been Sun Mountain's, which are good bags as well.  But, based on how your old one has held up, Randy,  and the features the new one has, I'm sure I'll take a look at these next time i have the need.  Nice reviews.  Thanks to all.

Thanks Ken, the last 2 I had before the Bag Boy were the Sun Mountain C-130 but it took so much of my riding partners room on a cart that I then bought the Sync to replace it.  Both were actually good bags but I only got about 2 years out of each, good but not nearly as good as my Bag Boy Chiller.

Additional cooling testing being conducted this afternoon.  Going to add ice to see if the outer cooler sweats or leaks at all.

Good day for that with the heat and humidity on the rise. Good luck out there!

Played 18 with ice in the cooler. No leaking, no sweating and ice remained in the cooler when I was done. It made a big difference in terms of keeping the beer colder than without ice. My go to beer set up moving forward will be 5 beers with as much ice as I can squeeze in instead of 6 beers and no ice.

definitely enjoying these reviews.  I'm debating on getting the Bag Boy Hybrid Cooler Bag, I just wish that these bags came with a double strap system versus the single strap.  I do like to walk and carry my bag when I'm able to.

It's a really nice bag but I could see how carrying it for 18 would be a concern.  I carried it about 50 yards the other day because I got a cart and it seemed a bit awkward and top heavy.  If I wasn't paying attention I could see how the clubs would tilt the bag and fall out while carrying.  Also with no legs you would pretty much need to lay it down for most if not all shots.  If you carry a laser no magnetic pocket so you'd probably need a lanyard or something to store it outside the bag.  As a cart bag or as a push cart bag I am loving it.  The cooler is awesome to have and it is executed very well.

when riding as a single does the bag wanna twist and turn and try to slide into the other side were another bag would be???

I played yesterday and the course was fairly full, we had some folks playing very slowly in front of us (2 guys hitting multiple balls on each tee and then immediately going into the woods to search for most of them) so we jumped forward a few holes and then caught the holes up at the end.  I noticed the bag was slightly crooked after riding the equilavent of 22 holes across the course instead riding the cart path and then 90° to the ball.   Nothing drastic but it did move just a bit today.

That was one of the main let downs for me, the bag is very light, but most definitely tiresome to carry in one shoulder the entire round.

It was beautiful, greens were a little hard and fast but absolutely enjoyable.

The fairways are really well kept and the rough is mostly short, so not many balls get lost.

Taylor meadows is an absolutely hidden gem.

I think there’s a misconception w this bag. From its name(cart bag), size & weight it wasn’t designed for carry but for Push/Pull carts or powered Golf Carts. Sorry guys.
So far for me it’s been a great Golf Cart Bag and even had a pleasant surprise I’ll discuss at review.

Great review Rick! Thanks for your insight and hard work.

This was fun. Looking to see how it looks in 6 months/1 year.

They are holding up very well IMO, these pictures that I just took compare the 4 year old bag with 400 to 600 rounds on it to the new one with 5 or 6 rounds on it.  The durability is not a problem that I anticipate.  Thanks for the question.

The mold hasn’t worn out and design works. Funny, it’s something I never really paid much attention to.

Nice write up rick love the Mohegan sun bag BTW. I like the “blue collar bag” I think that describes it extremely well good work!
also 120 rounds! I can’t wait to retire!

The Mohegan Sun bags are built like a Mack Truck! I’ve had a couple of them for maybe 15 years and still look great. Got them at a member/guest a looooong time ago.

Great write ups guys! I’m looking for a new bag right now and the cooler pocket is a big seller for me since most courses aren’t offering water jugs on the course right now.

I’ll definitely be looking into this bag.

For me, I don't need six cans in the cooler bag. I usually don't have cans anyway but carry water and Gatorade/Powerade. One hard shell icepack and three bottles of drink does the job.

I play some courses that don't allow coolers so this bag is a great way to carry 4 water bottles with you for the round.  I usually have one bottle of Propel in there for the electrolytes, especially in the summer.  It really works for me.

The cooler does work good and it’s “discrete”. The bag has my support for the quality and functionality. Cooler is a bonus.
Had a short conversation w a GM at the Golf Shop the other day when he noticed the bag. He is a believer in Bag Boy products.
