Anyone here ever dabble in the dark art of Stack and Tilt?  If so, what made you change?  How long did it take you to get used to this new method, do you find you hit the ball better/further?  One of my golfing buddies has been talking about switching and I just don't know much about it (except for YouTube).

I’ve known 2 players who have tried stack & tilt and both abandoned the method after a while.
Don’t know personally of any success story’s.

I don’t personally have any experience, but I will say that I’m not a believer in these “one size fits all” miracle swing techniques. The golf swing is an athletic motion, and while certain swing positions help with consistency, there are millions of ways to get to those positions, not just one.

I’m not saying it doesn’t work for some people, I’m sure it does, I just don’t think the everyone in the general golfing public should start using it.

I tried it for a while, or a version of it and while it worked initially, I progressively got worse. So, I've gone back to octopus falling out of a tree.

I keep on hearing about the stack and tilt, I've not tryed myself, but honestly if I could see data that proved improvement and it would be something that would not put strain on my new back, I definitely try it.

And there's the rub. Everything I've read says that it will put strain on the lower back around the lumbar region.

True, that’s what I thought also.

The more I research on it, the more it seems that it will negatively affect my back.

I have a consultation next month with golftec.

Hopefully their technology centered approach can help with golfing with less of back mobility.

I didn’t know much about it but watched a few videos just now and heard enough. Many of their fundamentals are sound but anytime someone says to keep your left ear to the ground at impact, I am out... when your spine is in that extreme tilted position (lateral flexion) and you apply shear force it is a recipe for blowing out your back. Now this may not be one of the core concept but the instructor said it so it is a no from me. I had back surgery 15 years ago so I am extremely sensitive to poor spine health practices in golf. I want to keep playing for a long time.
