BrownBearGolf
Anyone have any ideas or concrete info on whether or not the manufacturers and retailers are going to fire sale the equipment? Or will manufacturers just hold their new releases for another year? There was an article on this a while back but wanted to hear if there are new ideas. I remember back in 2008 or 2009 Callaway gave me free fairway metal when I bought a Diablo driver. I’m looking for new irons and might be prompted to buy if the $1500-$1200 price point comes to sub $999. Thoughts? Quote Epic Flash Sub Zero 9degree. Hosel set to -1degree/Nuetral. 2puttbogey
As mentioned in NPG, PXG is having a sale now until June 1st. I haven't come across anything from other OEMs. It seems that would have to do something to move the product, or just hold off a year since R&D may be behind too. It will be interesting to see what happens. Hopefully it will bring prices down for a few years. BrownBearGolf

Jmikecpa
I would imagine that once retail starts to open in most states there will be some type of promotion for many brands. Right now it is hard for most OEM’s as they are mostly considered non-essential businesses and hence closed. Makes it hard right now to move product when most of the product is done in retail locations. RickyBobby_PR
Don’t recall if I saw it on here or wrx but ping looks to be pushing all releases to after Pga show so they can stay on normal schedule. Srixon had made the decision to push til next year before the pandemic. So my guess for those two brands there won’t be any discounts coming this year beyond what they have done already. If any other brands do the same my guess is prices remain the same as well. Callaway, TM and Cobra all had their stuff out before the lockdowns so will be interesting to see what they do. Golfspy_CG2
PING and Mizuno have both recently announced Price Repositioning on the G400 Woods and JPX Lines. But these were reductions that were planned as each is at the end of it's life cycle. Titleist did the same with the TS line of woods right before the shutdown as well, for again the same reason as it's two year cycle for that line was coming up later this summer. So there are some good deals out there on those particular lines right now. connerp93
Rich Shiels seems to think they will hold releases for another year and we'll see the staffers play this year's releases for another year before anything new comes out. It makes sense to me and it gives them time to sharpen whatever was in the pipeline anyway. knightsofnii and BrownBearGolf 2 Quote Driver: Super Speedline S - 9.5 Diamana XS 60 3W & 3Hy: Super Speedline S - Stiff Irons: RAC OS II - Stiff - Standard loft/lie Wedges: MD3 S-Grind 52, 56 Putter: TP Ardmore 3 - L Neck Ball: ProV1X Bag: Players 4 Stand Bag Fort Worth, TX- RH - 10 Handicap
knightsofnii
I just ordered a custom 7i and driver, both F9 Speedback, for my wife, from the Cobra site. They are both discounted a little, like 20% I suppose. I couldn't find any other place selling those specific clubs a la carte. Couldn't find any coupon codes to drop the discount deeper but it wasn't terrible considering BrownBearGolf 1 Quote RADspeed 10.5, Evenflow Riptide CB 6.0s Bio Cell 3/4w, PXV 6.0s; AMP 3h 19deg Aldila RIP R. Headhammer
I've seen the Callaway EPIC Flashes marked way down and the Titleist AP iron sets as well. It's seems like 2 generations ago are getting the most reductions while current & last year's models are holding to standard discounts. fixyurdivot
I too think they will hold releases for another year. That kind of makes sense simply due to the domino effect internally with R&D, Design, Mfg. etc., all getting back to normal cadence. From a consumer standpoint I know we're all hoping for deep discounts and added buying power, but there is a part of me that dosen't want that at the expense of these companies going broke or severely limiting their abilities down the road. That said, I might be moved to buy a set of PING i500's at the right price . The other irons I like are already on sale, Mizuno JPX 950. I’m getting a fitting tomorrow morning that I won. Not buying anything today but trying to nail down loft gaps, shafts, and lie angles so when I do get new irons I’m set with info. fixyurdivot and daviddvm 2 Quote Epic Flash Sub Zero 9degree. aerospace_ray
I am seeing lots of emails and discounts from most of the major manufacturers and retail golf outlets. My only concern was I custom ordered a club or two and the delays due to Covid19 stuff are still impacting some companies. Have friends that have bought stock model clubs and got great deal with good delivery times. The deals are out there, the clubs getting to the door if you order may take a little longer.
