Middler
I don’t usually like skins games, but I enjoyed watching, guess it’s because I haven’t seen live golf in a while. It was fun to see on shorts, carrying their own bags with no caddies and the chatter. They didn’t seem to read greens as well as usual - not sure if that was no practice round, no green book and/or no caddies. Closest to the pin for $1.1M, more than the league I play in. I think Seminole is probably one of those places that can only be truly appreciated in person. We can see the defining characteristics of whispy brownish grass and large sand dunes at places like St. Andrews, Whistling Straits and Pinehurst on TV. Seminole appears to be much more subtle in its defining characteristics. I also feel like the time of year in south Florida aided in the browned out look. If this were played in the winter, it would likely "popped" more on TV because the fairways and greens would have been much more green. tony@CIC
