azstu324 2,767
Sorry if this was a "click bait" of sorts. but I don't have the wedge nor do I know how it performs.. YET I just placed the order today for a 56/12. I'll be pulling a TT DG Spinner shaft out of my current 52* since it isn't ever used and the grip is like brand new. It will be interesting to see how this wedge holds up to the Bridgestone Tour B XW-1's I've been gaming for the past 2 years. I've mentioned in other threads that due to the COVID-19 restrictions, I've been playing quite a few walking rounds (no pull cart). In effort to shed some extra weight in my bag, I've taken out my 52* and 60*. The 52* was hardly ever played but I wasn't sure how I could live without my 60*. To my amazement, I found that I was able to control the 56* very well and its versatility fills every gap the 60* left behind. from the GW website, it looks like the grind would be fairly similar to the Bridgestone "Dual Grind" which definitely aids to its versatility. My goal is to see if it's possible to live with just 1 wedge in my bag to 1. simplify my options and 2. to inspire a little more creativity in my wedge game. Hopefully in a week or so, I'll have some unboxing and build pics to share. For now, this is the combo that I'm looking at + + + 6 Quote SIM Max 7°/ Fujikura MotoreX F1 6X 917F2 3 Wood / UST ProForce V2 Black F4S++ Epic Flash Hybrid 18* / Mitsubishi Tensei Silver 70g TS-1 3 - P / TT DG 105 (S+) / GP Microsuede TSW 50/6 + 56/12 Wedge O-Works #7 / Superstroke Ultra Slim 1.

I was able to get everything glued up to set and cure over night. the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get.. azstu324 2,767
It's the next day and the club is cured and ready for action. Here are some profile comparisons. This is a side by side with my current Bridgestone Tour B XW-1 56/14°. As you can see, the profile is just a hair more compact. The Bridgestone wasn't a shovel by any means. This is a lineup of 3 different brands of wedges to show how the TSW compares to some better known brands. I know the Honma is. 50° and isn't a direct match up but I've liked the shape so I thought I'd include it. the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get.. azstu324 2,767
So I was able to take this beauty out to the course. I am elated to report that all expectations were met and exceeded! I was able to use for a number of full and partial approach shots as well as a couple of bunker up and downs. The balance, feel, turf interaction, look at address, and all of the above just worked flawlessly. The ball was stopping on a dime from 3/4 to full shots. In Arizona, that's almost unheard-of. And from just off the green, the ball would check with limited roll out so controlling the outcome was very easy. Oh, and let me not forget to mention that while I did bring my 60°, I didn't feel the need to use it at all. The versatility of this particular club was all that I could hope for. After today, I'm very heavily considering dropping the other wedges permanently. Or at the most, keep the Bridgestone in the bag for hitting off of "less than desirable" surfaces. Was hitting shots like these from 115 yds on in all day. the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get.. 6 Quote SIM Max 7°/ Fujikura MotoreX F1 6X 917F2 3 Wood / UST ProForce V2 Black F4S++ Epic Flash Hybrid 18* / Mitsubishi Tensei Silver 70g TS-1 3 - P / TT DG 105 (S+) / GP Microsuede TSW 50/6 + 56/12 Wedge O-Works #7 / Superstroke Ultra Slim 1.

Oh I had plenty. Nearly every approach was within 120 yds. Probably a good half of them were full to 3/4 swings. A lot of those were from a tight fairway lie. A few from the rough. Some just off the green. I'm not a heavy digger but I do take a divot on full shots. The grind and wider sole seemed to work really well for all lies. There really wasn't any shot this thing couldn't handle. My full swing distance is around 115 yds. I really like the leading edge. I prefer a more square edge but understand how a rounded edge can be helpful. There is just a slight bit of rounding but hardly noticeable.. so best of both worlds imo. Also, I'll add that with the higher bounce at 12° it still sits flush to the ground without the edge being raised up. 2 Quote SIM Max 7°/ Fujikura MotoreX F1 6X 917F2 3 Wood / UST ProForce V2 Black F4S++ Epic Flash Hybrid 18* / Mitsubishi Tensei Silver 70g TS-1 3 - P / TT DG 105 (S+) / GP Microsuede TSW 50/6 + 56/12 Wedge O-Works #7 / Superstroke Ultra Slim 1.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. You ordering a full club or piecing it together? Originally I was going to take the same approach and take a step back on all of my wedges going 50°, 54°, and 58° from 52°, 56°, and 60° BUT I just had so much success and yesterday's round was testament to me that less is more with a good solid 56°. I may actually still carry my Bridgestone 56° and use for rocky bunkers, or crap lies that can potentially destroy a club. the more I practice, the luckier I seem to get.. 1 Quote SIM Max 7°/ Fujikura MotoreX F1 6X 917F2 3 Wood / UST ProForce V2 Black F4S++ Epic Flash Hybrid 18* / Mitsubishi Tensei Silver 70g TS-1 3 - P / TT DG 105 (S+) / GP Microsuede TSW 50/6 + 56/12 Wedge O-Works #7 / Superstroke Ultra Slim 1.

bens197 5,872
So I went ahead and bought a 52 / 58 to go with the Modus 115 wedge shaft. I built them up sooner than expected, thanks in part to Golfworks and the USPS 2 day Priority shipping for $1.99. So without further adieu, here they are...Initial thoughts? I love the headshape. Rounded teardrop and a very compact toe to heel. Looks play such a large part in confidence and they really catch my eye. The feel has been very pleasant thus far. I haven’t come close to putting them through the paces so as far as initial yard-work shots go, the sole is very versatile. Playing the ball down as well as floating on taller grass, the club plays well with the turf. 5 Quote PING G400 LST 8.5 Evenflow Black 65g 6.5 PING G 3W HZRDUS Yellow 75g 6.0 Mizuno HMB MP20 3i Nippon Modus 3 120S Ben Hogan PTx Combo Nippon Modus 3 120S Maltby TSW 52, 58 Nippon Modus Wedge Bettinardi BB8 Wide Oncore Elixr Rochester, NY 5.6 Index
