Maltby TSW Wedge (56/12)

I was looking at these also but the TSW look so nice

The TSW with that v-sole yet compact head is a stud. Plus it will have a softer feel with the Pearl finish instead of the DBM finish. I enjoy the all black look alot and right now its all through the bag except for the FDI and my Putter.

Just joined the forum, pulled the trigger on a set of 5-G Crome PTM’s with the 52 and 56 TSW’s all with standard TT lights at regular+, been playing for 2 years and started with a set of the black DBM’s, had them build with black UST65G shafts and my dispersion is terrible. Beautiful set but my swing has improved a lot and needed more stable engine. Did a lot of reading....looking forward to the rest of the summer now!

The PTMs are awesome. Love mine. Enjoy the new clubs!

The PTMs are truly the hidden gem in the golf works catalog. I have about 10 rounds with them and they just keep getting better. The accuracy and dispersion is just top notch. Plus the sole design is the perfect mix of players iron and game improvement. I shot my lowest round this year at -4 today. And if it wasn't for up my putter it would've been better.

It was a toss up between ts2 and Ptm, went with the progressive sole, bounce like ping clubs. Fantastic round -4,  been athletic all my live, golf 2 years breaking 90 and going for 80 in the next year.

Hogan equalizer on top, middle glide 1.0, and bottom is my new maltby TSW for the top photo. Bottom reverse order showing the sole differences. The brand new grips make me realize I need to get my iron grips changed.

What to do? I got a set of DBM’s 2 years ago, always wondering why the f-.....k are my gap and pitching wedge so close to each other like 110 and 115???? Corona and pulled the bag cleaning and swinging in the house set up against the wall and o my, wtf gap is longer than pithing by 1/2. Ok now I know. Pulled the trigger on a set of PTM’s 5-G with a 52 and 56 TSW, just arrived this morning, beautiful and  WTF gap is longer than pitching!!?!?!?

I make my gap wedge and pitching wedge the same size. Then the sand wedge in lob wedge are a quarter in shorter

Ok, little disappointed, du! But very happy with the Maltby product! In a apartment, no workshop ! Anybody knows somebody in NY that can pull 4 shafts and reinstall?

Started playing 2 years ago breaking 90 and still figuring stuff out, don’t need shafts  to be installed the wrong way!

Just pulled the trigger on a 50* TSW to replace the missing AW in my set wasn't sure if I should get TS1 AW or TSW 50*. We will see how it performs when it arrives. Also I got a KE4 4 wood.
My bag will likely have 11/14 Maltby clubs in it this season. I have been truely shocked with their performance especially at the price. Also I had not heard of Maltby a year ago.

It blows my mind that more people are not playing them with the performance per dollar. Especially where OEM equipment is getting absurd in pricing.

So I bought 3 clubs built straight from Golfworks totalling $190 4w & 2 wedges and bought second hand 2i, TSW heads and CTaper shafts totalling $315.
All in my bag will be cheaper then many pay for a driver. And I have no regrets.

Yes, it's incredible when you break it down like that. I paid like $185 for the PTMs and sold the shafts that came with them for $80. Bought the C-Taper Lites as pulls for $140. Even with brand new grips I'm still in a basically brand new set 4-GW of irons for less than $400.

I'm considering a gap wedge, and haven't made a commitment yet.  I wondered about the same; TS-1 AW or TSW 50.  I asked Golfworks what the differences were:

"The shapes are different between the TS-1 GW and the TSW 50*. The TSW has a wider sole, more bounce. The TS-1 has a little more offset. Grooves are the same, "U" grooves. The TSW should have a little lower CG."

So I kept going back and forth between which to choose. My personal reasoning for TSW was the fact my GW is primarily my 85% 100 yrd club and I need to dial this up a hair to adjust I can. Along with trying to use it a little more deliberately around certain green side shots with a touch more bounce.

Something I'm finding out more about the TSW.. or at least the 56° is that it's actually quite forgiving but with excellent feedback.

I had an approach the other day that was 112 out. I immediately knew that I struck the ball high on the toe. My buddy was watching and said "great shot man!".. then in mid flight I said "naw man, it was super toey, it'll be short". It landed 5' short of the pin and about 2' offline. He then said, "not as toey as you thought huh?". Looked at the club and the ball mark was right in the top pocket of the toe. 1mm off and I probably would have shanked it. At most I lost 5-8 yds of distance and the direction was negligible. Not to mention, it just bounced once and slammed the breaks.

Also, it just glides through turf and thick stuff pretty effortlessly. So far I'm finding no reasons to have any other wedge other than my set Gap (51°)

Back spin on shorter shots and ability to control the amount of spin is really something else! The TSW quickly becoming a very strong candidate for favorite club.
