I just got a set of MP20s today.  I hit them on the range and they are in my bag for a tournament tomorrow.  They feel great!  I was playing MP57s that were about 13 or so years old.  I will report back on how they play vs. my old set tomorrow.

Played my Mizuno MP20s for the first time today in a club tournament.  I was trying to be a little "too smooth" on the first 8 holes.  After that I got a rhythm and they feel really good.  I didn't have a good scoring day due to some bad luck and a few mistakes, but I am very happy with how the MP20s performed.  My "over draws" were not there today and missed shots stayed on line.  I am very impressed coming from MP 57s at the tighter dispersion and I am getting the same distance.

UPDATE:  Mizuno MP20 Performance   After a couple rounds, I "got in the dirt" at the range and made a swing tweak that "unlocked" my MP 20s.  I played two rounds at an old school layout course only using irons, wedges and putter to force me to use all of my new irons.  I am even happier with the MP20s now after putting in the work.  My misses are staying in play and I am flushing a higher percentage of my shots.  I am excited to get out an play them again as soon as possible.  I know these aren't for everyone, but encourage everyone to get fit and find clubs that make you want to get better while helping you enjoy the challenge that is golf.  These clubs are inspiring me to work to play better and I am having a blast in the process.

I've got the JPX 900 Tour Irons. There is not a better feel than catching a forged Mizuno flush. I remember when i was getting fitted and i hit the second ball flush, my fitter laughed cause my face just lit up like a kid in a candy store.

LOL.... I remember my first fitting with my MP57s and the even better feeling with the new MP 20s.

Great choice in irons!   Mizuno make the softest feeling iron out there.   Still, nothing beats Miura for me

Completely! I havent felt this comfortable with a club in my hand ever. I feel like I can confidently hit knockdown and half shots also which is an amazing feeling. The control I have will hopefully make a huge difference for my game. If only my driver hadnt left the building I would be pumped.

Actually, I think the ENTIRE MP20 line is amazing!  I would have a combo set but the cost is a bit steep for me.  I think I would do the HMB 4,5,  MMC 6,7 and blade 8-pw with Nippon Modus 120 x shaft.  That would be my set up if money was not an issue.

I didnt really get along well with the blade or MMC when I was fitted. Originally going in I was planning on doing a mixed set but the other two just didnt perform as great as the HMB. Did have one fitter like the Nippon 120x for me also, though I ended up going with the KBS C-Taper Lite 115.

Is it safe to assume they put you on the Mizuno shaft optimizer?  I was really impressed with the HMB's, they are just a bit too big for my liking in the scoring irons.  I like small and compact, maybe it makes me focus a bit more.  Not sure but I do.

Actually I did not, was fitted at 3 different facilities and none brought out the shaft optimizer. Yeah I understand that I have a Callaway MB 2iron that's has a very small club head and I love the look.

Yup, didnt think about it at the time though. They ended up having me in KBS C Taper Lite 115. I have a 110 in my 2iron and I love that club so I was very ok with the choice.

The price on the 919 has already been dropped in anticipation of the new JPX lineup later this summer.

I think all places are now $1,000 ($125/club) for the set. Used to be $1,400 ($175/club).

Canada is prob behind, like always. Were still sitting at 1400-1700 dollars a set. Fingers crossed i scoop a great deal before Xmas.

Last year I was fit for D-7's but didn't get them because my wife's new clubs were a higher priority. Thinking about getting them this year and asked my fitter. He suggested I try the 919 Hot Metals as a comparison to the D-7's. He mentioned they were only $13./club more than the D-7's. I'm tempted to go back for just an iron fitting. I love the look of the Mizunos - almost too pretty to hit.

For some reason, when I did the Mizuno fitting, the guy also didn't bring it out. He said his instinct is more accurate than the optimizer 

I trusted him and don't regret my purchase at all.

You should really look at the D7 Forged as well if you haven't.  John wrote a very good-as usual--first look piece on them earlier this spring, that is on the blog. 

A very good value for a nice looking club, but nothing wrong with the Hot Metals either!

I’m hoping to get a real steal on EBay at some point for the forged. Have old x-14s that im probably too good for now, and just got mp-32s that I haven’t hit yet, that I got super cheap from a family member, but I really don’t think I’m good enough for those yet. 
 

I’m really annoyed though, I missed out on a split set of forged(4-6)/tour(7-9) 900s that went for $165 on eBay. Hope I can find something in the 150-250 range in the 900 or 919s when the new JPXs come out.

900 deals should be pretty easy to find.   I sold a my 919 Forged right before the COVID for $650, but that was before any price reduction and they were in mint shape, probably less than 10 rounds on them.
