Brandon Dunes - Favorite Courses

I have been to Bandon a few times. Its gorgeous. You will have a great time. Bandon and Pacific are must plays. Then I would normally steer people to Old Mac, but I would jump on Sheep Ranch if you can. I've played with different caddies everytime and was never disappointed. Just listen to them because they learn your game way quicker than you would ever think possible, and with the conditions there, you rarely know what is best for you.

Had my first trip last April and was truly one of the best golf experiences I've been apart of.  The courses and facilities were fantastic.   The Caddies blew away every caddy I've had elsewhere.  For reference I don't play with caddies that often, probably about 6-8 times, but the experience was top notch.

I would say your course list is perfect.  I was only able to play 2 courses when were were there as well as the Par 3 course.   If you have the chance, play the par 3,, Bandon Preserve as well.  The views are really amazing and they put so much design and thought into the Par 3 as well.   A bit pricey for just a par 3, but I still remember it vividly.  Not my picture below, but this is the par 3 scenery.

Both Dunes courses are a must, and I would try the Sheep Ranch.  Old Mac is my least favorite.  Bandon Trails seems hit or miss with guys, but I've grown to really like it after not liking it at all first couple of times.  Par 3 is nice, expensive though and if I had a choice would play one of the 18 hole courses instead and spend an evening or two on the Punch Bowl

That looks incredible and incredibly hard. Looks like one bad bounce can send you  50 feet past the whole.

Personally - and everyone whose ever been has a strong opinion - it’s Old Mac and Bandon for me. Probably because I’ve scored my best on those two respectively. Had a Vulcan mind meld w my caddie at OM and made every putt we looked at - the foursome couldn’t stop laughing. I like the variety of OM.

There is nothing like coming in at sunset at Bandon however. It’s the original. Won’t beat you up as bad as Pacific when it starts (and it will start) to blow.

So If you go Pacific - get it in the morning before the wind picks up.

Trails is georgeous, but being from Iowa I come for the ocean. But many find trails at the top of their list.

My next trip back however - has to be Sheep Ranch. Pictures from their opening week are the golf porn on my phone... but it may be booked up by now. But if you can get on it you’ll make friends jealous.
