Popular Post deejaid 3,936
Well, like I said in my last video, I was not looking for distance gains with the Players Combo set but I’ve gotten it.I have 5 range sessions with the Hogan’s now. Today was the first time I left my regular gamers at home and just took the Hogan’s. After yesterday’s session I finally felt comfortable with the Hogan’s.Previous club distances (Pedersen’s with club lofts)3-iron (22*) 1954-iron (26*) 1855-iron (30*) 1756-iron (34*) 1627-iron (38*) 1508-iron (42*) 1389-iron (46*) 125PW (50*) 110-115Hogan Players Combo4-iron UIHI (22*) 2105-iron (26*) 1956-iron (30*) 1807-iron (34*) 1708-iron (38*) 155-1609-iron (42*) 145PW (46*) 130-135Comparable lofts the Hogan’s are flying 5-10 yards farther. Clubs are same length but the Pedersen’s have Precision Rifle 5.0 steel shafts and the Hogan’s have the Recoil F4 stiff graphite. I’d attribute it to the 40 gram or so lighter shaft increasing swing speed.I’m also not seeing any big distance gap between the Icon 8-iron and the PTx Pro 7-iron. The gaps seem consistent. I had two shots, both with the 6-iron where I seemed to catch a hot part of the face and both shots went 200 yards or about 20 yards further than expected.I am now seeing a big gap in the short end of my bag so had to go ahead and order a 50* and 54* Equalizer wedge today. Haha they were on my list of grips to try out before I got the sonars for the #CCC4. Yup! I will make it quick and easy for you . I was using GP Tour Wrap 2G’s for years. Last year I received a demo Sonar Tour from Golfworks under a promo. I loved the feel, mostly as I prefer to play without a glove. While loving the feel, I still preferred a wrap grip. This season I see Lamkin release these and it was a marriage between two great grips. Add to that a rib and I couldn’t be happier. Super good traction, moderately soft squish, just enough to remain comfortable without feeling like you’re holding a pillow. It’s barely been half a season so I have no comment on durability. So far, I see no reason to try anything else. 4 Quote PING G400 LST 8.5 Evenflow Black 65g 6.5 PING G 3W HZRDUS Yellow 75g 6.0 Mizuno HMB MP20 3i Nippon Modus 3 120S Ben Hogan PTx Combo Nippon Modus 3 120S Maltby TSW 52, 58 Nippon Modus Wedge Bettinardi BB8 Wide Oncore Elixr Rochester, NY 5.6 Index
bens197 5,872
Took my PW out to the backyard today for some pitches and short chips. No complaints about feel from me. This has a really nice impact sound as others have shown with their videos. I was limited to what I can work on but I foresee a lot of positives from this set. One item that I am planning on focusing on for the coming weeks...sole width on the 8-P and how the widening of that sole compared to the Ft. Worth 15 will hopefully improve performance on mis-hits. 2 Quote PING G400 LST 8.5 Evenflow Black 65g 6.5 PING G 3W HZRDUS Yellow 75g 6.0 Mizuno HMB MP20 3i Nippon Modus 3 120S Ben Hogan PTx Combo Nippon Modus 3 120S Maltby TSW 52, 58 Nippon Modus Wedge Bettinardi BB8 Wide Oncore Elixr Rochester, NY 5.6 Index

Sluggo42 6,033
Here’s another view of a difference between 8 irons, in the PtxPro set -vs- the Icon, in the combo set. The PtxPro’s are in my other set... may I add - that the Icons are on the Recoils, and the old PtxPro’s are on the KBS V-tour steel shafts. To say the Icon 8 on the Recoil feeling is like a warm nugget of caramel, that just melts between your teeth, just still doesn’t quite capture the gooey softness... But a puppy does! yet the good old PtxPro 8 iron is also a very satisfying strike- just different is all. 5 4 Quote MavriK Sub Zero 9* on EvenFlow RipTide 6.0 50g Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S F8 5/6 wood on Aldila NxT GEN MLT R Combo iron set -8,9,per Icon 5,6,7 PtxPro 4-UiHi on Recoil 780 ES f4 Stiff shafts (best clubs ever) Equalizer 50°, 54°, 60° wedges on Recoil 780 f4 ER3 34” ProV1x .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 shoes

joen 773
OK gentlemen! First round with the new clubs yesterday. Let me start by saying that I have been battling my swing as of late so I naturally had some loose swings which are absolutely no fault of the clubs unless these are supposed to have AI built into them....and they are supposed to swing themselves. Sadly they do not. Shot a 40 on the front missing three putts that I thought I made. Two tap in birdies on 15 and 16 thanks to great iron shots sealed a 78 for the day. I was secretly hoping to get Deejaid like improvement in my yardages. Alas....the yardages are almost identical to my Mizunos which is helpful for scoring. The feel on a solid hit is muted but pure. This is a great set of golf clubs. I honestly don’t know why these are not grabbing a significant share of the marketplace at their price point and quality. Playing again on Sunday. More thoughts to come! 8 Quote G 400 driver with Aldila DVS 55-SR shaft (FAIRWAY FINDING MONSTER) Aero Burner 16 degree mini driver regular flex Rogue Heavenwood regular flex Icon/PTX Pro Combo Set.
