I try to replace my irons multiple times a year.  It often does not succeed.  I have mainly played the J36CB, J40CB, then Srioxn 765 still today.  I have tried M3 irons, P790, Hotmetal Pro, King Forged Tours, Cally Apex, and some others I am sure I am forgetting.

Clubs in great standing

I've had 3 sets total since high school. And my last set I just got at the end of 2018, so I guess I'm towards the 7 year crowd.

I’m every 3-5 years but there is a tendency for me to cluster when I change - it may take a couple of cracks before I settle in.

I’m also normally a generation behind in what I game.

6 years. My first set was a cheap brand called Ram Golf, bought them at a Sports Authority when i picked up golf in my teens and replaced them after college. Bought a set of Taylormade Speedblades from Dicks. I started to get an itch about 2 years ago to upgrade, but i bought lessons instead. Glad i did because i dropped about 10 strokes, shooting in the lower 100s to lower 90s. Recently I went to a Callaway fitting and fell in love with the Mavrik Pros. Waiting for them to arrive at the pro shop to pick them up.

For the past 5 years I'd say, it's on average 2.5 sets per year.

Prior to that it was mostly just 1 set per year.

I purchased my first set of irons in 2010 then didn't upgrade until 2019 but I didn't play golf for many years between the 9 year gap. I am now going to at least look to upgrade irons every 5 years now.

I am not married to one brand I actually like to try every brand to see what I like the best.

LOL...My original thought was to reply, was to say something along the lines of, Most people are talking years, I thought the appropriate time frame is months 🙂

I've had my Mizuno MP-30's since 2001, and they have been great.  Had Titleist 962's for 4 years prior to that.

FINALLY getting new irons again this week with Sub 70 639 CB's, but I should have 1 more round with the Mizuno's before they come in.

This is my 5th year golfing, I bought Titleist AP3’s after I broke 80 for the first time at the end of 2018. Before that, I was playing a set of pine meadow clubs I got off amazon for $200. I love my AP3’s so I don’t think I’ll replace them anytime soon. Every 5 years seems reasonable, every other year for wedges...
