GolfSpy AFG
I was cleaning out/sorting my bag a little while ago and it occurred to me...I wonder if I'm the only one that keeps this much crap in their bag. I have gotten feedback that my bag is on the heavy side; I suspect I'm packing away a bit more than the average golfer. Besides balls, tees, and gloves... - Bushnell Rangefinder and spare batteries. My kid likes to screw around with the rangefinder when I take him, and I was not happy when the battery died into my second hole one Saturday morning. - White and black frame Oakley’s - Some Trident, because Tiger was chewing gum at the Masters, so if I chew gum I'll play like Tiger, right? - About 30 ball markers and 6 or 7 repair tools. Ball markers are the one cheap souvenir I'll pick up at every new course. - Spike wrench and club wrench - Nike Thermal sleeves. Admittedly, these haven't gotten a lot of use. - Under Armour and Nike knit hats - Under Armour and Nike rain jackets (I have this weird thing where I hate mixing apparel logos...I know...) - Titleist cart mitts - Handwarmers - Military challenge coin from my first squadron - Absorbine Jr for gnat repellent Some of this stuff I only need for colder temps, but if I store it anywhere else I'll inevitably get questions from the wife who doesn't remember me buying that, and that, and that, if you get my drift. So, am I the overprepared weirdo? And, what else is in your bag? benmcal, beelzeberto, joen and 3 others 6 Quote Driver: TSR2, Ventus Blue 6 S, 65g Stiff FW: TSR2 3w, 15, Ventus Blue 7 S, 70g Stiff Hybrids: Apex Pro 3H, Ventus Blue 8 S, 80g Stiff Stealth DHY 4H, Ventus Blue 8 S, 80g Stiff Irons: SMS 5-6, SMS Pro 7-PW, Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff Wedges: SM9 48 F Grind, 52 F Grind, 56 M Grind, Aerotech Steelfiber i95 Stiff Putter: Sri-Hot 5K Triple Wide, Stroke Lab shaft Ball: Pro V1 Click here for my HONMA TR20 Official Review! Nic
Well now I'm embarrassed for myself lol... I didnt realize that I have an excessive amount of gear, goods and crap zippered into every nook and pocket in my bag. A towel, a glove, some tees, and a sleeve of golf balls should be all that I need. However, 5 ball markers, divot tools, an extra shirt, 3 more gloves, a windbreaker, rain suit, rain gloves, 100+ tees, 40+ balls, first aid kit, driver adjustment tool, extra towels, sunglasses, extra laces, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, 2 groove brushes, an extra headcover are just ridiculous for me to lug around. I took all of the extra stuff out, and my bag is light & will actually stand upright on it's own now! GolfSpy AFG and joen

bacchus
I used to way overpack, but I paired it down quite a bit. I have: A club wrench; a few extra spikes and spike wrench; phone clip to film my swing, 1 Divot tool; 1 poker chip ball marker and 1 flat ball marker; couple bandaids, sharpie, koozie, sunscreen stick, and usually an extra glove. So its mostly pretty light. I keep my range finder, towel, and brush clipped to my bag. What was key is i took a small free promotional duffle bag i had laying around and put all the extra stuff (i.e., some light rain and cold weather gear, extra towels, cold weather and rain gloves, extra ball markers and divot tools, tees, etc) and it stays where i keep my golf clubs. So if i need anything or forecast looks iffy, i can just grab the bag and go, knowing i can sort it out when i get to the course. dgoober
Great topic! Same as @bacchus, I’ve pared down my bag for walking. Currently have a Scotty Cameron Sunday bag and Callaway light bag with the Titleist 14-way on hold for cart golf in the future. Aside from balls/tees etc. my go-to staples are some snacks (trial mix or granola bar), change of socks ( @GB13 I agree man!) , sports tape for fingers and band aids. Always seem to need something for extra hand grip, or a busted finger. Side-note: veterans, help me out with a like so I can get out of recruit status - been here since 2018! hawkfdc
I wage a constant war at my home course to have a net positive on golf balls, meaning I find more than I lose. Periodically I clean out the ball bag and dump them in a bucket at the house for my son and his duck hook off the tee. So, balls, tees, 1 divot tool with a ball marker, a second ball marker, a few quarters, the flightscope, the holder for the flightscope, 2 alignment sticks, a rain jacket, a ball retriever, 2 towels. Okay I have to go clean out my bag now. Quote You wish you hit like a girl!
