Callaway Warbird - New...but I'm not sure about improved.

I picked up a box of these for $20 in an East Texas pro shop while on the road this weekend. I couldn't help myself because this was my favorite ball back when I was a junior. There was something about the name and the red-orange Callaway logo and Warbird emblazened on the cover that drew me to them then. Of course back then I needed the distance, and now I prefer something with a little more feel and workability. But I played a round with them for nostalgia sake, and I have to say I was a little disappointed. For the lack of spin I figured I might pick up a little more yardage but I couldn't tell much difference in the category.

 

For those of you that used to hit this back in the day, am I just recalling the find memories of jr golf or was this ball never all that special. These certainly feel like the $20 I paid for them, which I suppose is the anticlimactic answer, I just hoped for a little more.
