Popular Post STUDque 12,381
To use a line or not to use a line? That is the question. It's not exactly Shakespeare, but when lining up a putt, it's a question I'll bet you've asked your self more than once. Some golfers use tracing devices while others opt for the free-hand Sharpie method. Additionally, on pretty much every tour-level ball, the side stamp doubles as an alignment aid. Some companies (namely Callaway) have taken the conversation a step further with advancements such as Triple-Track Technology. Given all of this as the context within the ball industry, Golfballs.com spawned the idea of Align XL. Simply, it's a custom print option that places a straight line 180° around the ball. The result seems rather basic, but drawing a straight line on a curved surface is a bit more complex than one might think. With that, Golfballs.com developed in-house technology to maintain certain levels of quality control and fast turn-around times on all custom orders. Now, we want you to test it. Golfballs.com will be providing one dozen of any type of ball on their website with the AlignXL personalization. This opportunity is open to golfers residing in the US. zrumble 551
Intriguing. I don’t align my ball often because I feel it’s distracting trying to get the line just right then the face to match... maybe that’s why I’m not scratch I’ll be following the data on this one closely. I hope some testers are those who do alight it, and some who don’t. 1 Stats: 5'4", Male, R-Handed, Moderate Tempo, Driver SS 115mph Driver: Taylormade SiM Max 9*, TM Ventus Blue 6X 3w/5w: Callaway X-Hot, S-flex Fubuki shafts 3h: Tour Edge EXS Pro, Smoke Black 80g 6.0 4i-PW: Mizuno MP-4, DG S300 Wedges: Titleist SM7 56* Wedge: Callaway Jaws w/ 12* of bounce

I hope some testers are those who do alight it, and some who don’t. I have experimented with a line but I don't align it and also find it distracting, but I know some great putters who line. I think my biggest issue is trusting the line to match up with the stroke so I don't push or pull it once I get over the ball. Second biggest issue is the time it takes to line it up and then possibly realign if it looks off. I'd rather go with my gut and hit it fast. But then again, I also don't play for the big bucks 1 Driver: Honma TR20 440 8.5° w/ Vizard FP-7X SHAFT - REVIEW POSTED 3 Wood: Adams TightLies Titanium 3+ - Shaft Bassara E55 x5ct Hybrid: Taylormade RBZ 2. 16.5°- Stock Shaft- Stiff Irons: SUB70 639 CB 4-PW w/ Nippon Modus 120 X-STIFF Wedges: GW: SUB70 Raw 48° Mizuno Mp series 52 SW: Cleveland RTX 2.0 56° LW: Mizuno JPX 900 60° Putter: Odyssey White Ice Sabertooth- Superstroke Slim 3.0 grip Bag: Taylormade FlexTech Lifestyle Carry bag- Houndstooth

BrownBearGolf 296
I ordered 3 dozen Align XL on Srixon Z Star. I F’ing love them. Got them quickly and have felt much more confident putting with them. I practice with them also. It does take a bit more time aligning even on my Wellputt practice mat but it can help. As for using in play, sometimes you think you aligned properly from standing behind the ball. Then when you address the ball the line looks way off. So, take your time and align from behind then take a practice adddress stance and make sure it all looks right. Combine the line with a marker that has a point like a triangle or aimed at the line. It can instill confidence in target acquisition. Then you just worry about speed. I reccomend Align XL Epic Flash Sub Zero 9degree. Hosel set to -1degree/Nuetral. Aftermarket 10gram front weight and 6.5 gram sliding weight set to fade. The 19th Hole 613
I go back and forth on this. I often do not use the alignment on my back and actually specifically put the brand stamp perpendicular to my aprox line and leave it up to feel for actual aim. But then when I start to putt poorly and am inside 10 ft I will start using the line again just to make sure those missed putts are stroke and not original aim. Interested to see what people think of having a more prominent lone on the ball than what comes standard. connerp93 87
Interesting to see if whoever's selected thinks this is better than the good ol' sharpie and PVC fitting. I've went back and forth on the alignment and still not sure what the right thing to do would be. GolfSpy_TCU 710
I went back and forth with a thick sharpie line on my ball all of last season, and found it helpful on shorter/straighter putts but also very distracting when it comes to longer putts or sliding putts. I'll be interested to see the results from the Testers! Good Luck and if the data is good enough, i'll get over my dumb brain and start doing the line again.
