TESTERS ANNOUNCED! 2020 GolfBalls.com AlignXL

Recommended Posts

Walt, Southern New Jersey, 22

I draw a line over the the OEM's alignment aid using a marking tool.

Either a Titleist ProV1 or a Bridgestone e6 marked with a single black dot over the left side of the manufacturer's trademark.

Hi All, This is my first post and MGS testing entry. I've been a avid reader of the reviews and forums.

1. San Francisco and No-HC (Total novice)
2. Just started putting and experimenting with alignment (tracking all my data)
3. Pro V1 Yellow and "METHODGOLF"

I think would be a good addition since I'm tracking all my putting practice on Blastmotion and currently A/B testing ball alignment.

Currently I use a red sharpie and a tracing tool for a 360 degree line around the ball.

Ball of choice is Titleist Pro V1x - Get Naked!

Marking from OEM

Titleist ProV1x

Black line with “CW”

Thanks! I’ve stopped using a sharpie as the line starts to get affected by iron shots. This is a great offering.

To use a line or not to use a line? That is the question. It's not exactly Shakespeare, but when lining up a putt, it's a question I'll bet you've asked your self more than once.

Some golfers use tracing devices while others opt for the free-hand Sharpie method. Additionally, on pretty much every tour-level ball, the side stamp doubles as an alignment aid. Some companies (namely Callaway) have taken the conversation a step further with advancements such as Triple-Track Technology.

Given all of this as the context within the ball industry, Golfballs.com spawned the idea of Align XL.

Simply, it's a custom print option that places a straight line 180° around the ball.

The result seems rather basic, but drawing a straight line on a curved surface is a bit more complex than one might think. With that, Golfballs.com developed in-house technology to maintain certain levels of quality control and fast turn-around times on all custom orders.

Now, we want you to test it. Golfballs.com will be providing one dozen of any type of ball on their website with the AlignXL personalization.  This opportunity is open to golfers residing in the US. To apply, reply to this thread with the following information:

  1. Location and HC     Montebello, Ca   90640  hc: 12
  2. Current line method     manufacturers
  3. Ball choice and     Titlest AVX    personalization   BOBBY "GIL" LARA

Interested in doing the testing.  I do align most puts and mainly believe in it, also practice 6 foot puts (pre- pandemic) with left ,right and both hands to develop 6 in confidence.   In the past year have used the manufacturer markings that agree could be better.

  1. Location and HC - Colorado and 4 HC
  2. Current line method - get low to read green and set up ball in alignment.
  3. Ball choice and personalization -   Srizon Z-star XV and initial JK

Thank you for setting this up, would be fun , very curios if better alignment leads to fewer strokes.

All Fitted-- Driver - 2017 Callaway Epic Subzero 10.5d (same as Kevin Na), 3 Wood -2017 Epic Subzero 15d, 3 Hybrid Mavrik, X-forged 4-PW, Wedges Callaway 4 52-56-60, Odyssey Toulon Chicago
