PW loft at 46* is still pretty normal by today's standards. I would go 50*, 54* and then 58* or 60*. There is a problem with stronger irons, where PW is 44* or even lower. In that case I would choose 48* gap wedge (preferably the same model as PW) and then 54* and 60* (note in my signature I have made a mistake in the past when choosing the lofts of my wedges). These are bigger gaps between shorter clubs than I would usually prefer but thats what you get when buying stronger lofted irons. The only other option I see is a 5 wedge setup (44, 48, 52, 56, 60) but I have never seen a set like this in the wild and I don't think I would go this way. When it comes to woods and hybrids I think it really depends what loft of the lowest fairway wood one can play. If one has enough (but not too much) speed for a 15* fairway wood, then I would go 18* 5 wood or 18-19* hybrid and then something like 22-23* 4 hybrid/iron (depends on the loft and distance of the longest iron). Unfortunately many of us don't have enough speed to effectively play 15* fairway wood from the turf so the better option becomes something like 4 or strong 5 wood (16,5-17*) as the longest wood in the bag. From then sensible gapping is something like 20/21* hybrid etc. At least in my experience and opinion... Middler
I always carry 45*, 50*, 56* and usually a 60* - all low bounce except the 56* I use in greenside traps. Maybe I should, but I rarely use my 56* (too much bounce) or 60* (too easy to “blade”) for full swing approach shots. I use my GW from 105 yds and in and I bump and run an 8i around greens whenever possible. Not suggesting everyone should do as I do (probably not), but how you use your wedges factors in to what wedges you might want. You might enjoy the wedge selection article link below. I’m not a fan of hybrids, when I do carry my 3H 19*, my 60* or 3i come out of my bag. My 3i and 3H carry the same, the 3H just flies a little higher and lands a little softer, but they’re almost interchangeable for me. The wide sole advantage of a hybrid just doesn’t come into play that often for me. https://www.vokey.com/nav/wedge-selection.aspx# Sookyoahn and Nic 2 Quote Titleist TSR2 11° HZRDUS Red CB 50 6.0 w Lamkin UTx Midsize Titleist TSR2 16.5º HZRDUS Red 60 CB 6.0 & TSR2 21º HZRDUS Black 4G 70 6.0 w Lamkin UTx Midsize Mizuno JPX923 HMP 4-GW, T22 54.12WS, T22 58.04DC w Lamkin ST+2 Hybrid Midsize Evnroll EV5.3 Maxfli Tour & ProV1 Ping Pioneer - MGI Zip Navigator AT Payntr X 002 LE, Ecco Biom C4, FJ DryJoys

Jmikecpa
Play my PW at 46* and then wedges in 50*, 54* and 58*. I only carry one hybrid and that is at 19* and then move to a 23* four iron. Martinjfs
I used to carry a 20* hybrid but the love faded. My current set up is a 15* fairway wood followed by a 4 iron. The 790 UDI replaces the 3 wood on some days. Wedges are PXG 0211 45* then Cleveland RTX 50, 56 and 60. There is too much of a gap between my pitching wedge and my 50 degree, ideally I would weaken all my irons by a degree or a bit more. Firebird
PW is 45, also carry a 50 and 54. I have a 48 but I find that I have good distance control with the 45 and 50 that I did not use the 48 a great deal. Also hitting 1/2 -3/4 shot helps me control the amount of spin. I have been using Cleveland wedges for years now and really like these. Very good stopping power. I almost always play with a square face, even out of bunkers and they do the trick. All are medium bounce. I may reduce the loft of my PW and increase the 50 by a degree to close the gap a bit, or go with a GW that is the same as my irons and get Clevelands that give me the correct gapping. revkev
Good questions - my PW is 45, I currently game 48,52,58 and 3,5,7,9 woods. I was fit for 5,7, 9 wood and 48,52,56,60.Oddly my short game improved by pulling the wedge but honestly there is very little difference in distance between the 3 and 5 wood. I’m seriously considering going back to what I was fit for knowing that 52 is the boss around the green with 56 around only for 80 yard and long bunker shots. According to ARCCOS I’m a scratch golfer with the 52. According to my friends I’m a thief. :) I would ask who has been fit for those two ends of the bag?
