edteergolf
I don't care what the labels or names of the clubs. I want something 12-15 yard gaps between 90 yards to 200ish. After that about 20 yards. What I actually have is the following: 97, 115, 132, 145, 160, 174, 188, 200, 215, 225, 245, 265, 280+ ( this is a 58wedge, a 54 bent to 53, a 50 bent to 47, 9 iron - 4 iron, a weakened driving iron, hybrid, 3 wood, driver) Not many clubs are standard lofts. I gap to get the distances desired. Some are bent strong and some are weak with gaps between 3* and 5*. Some wedges are bent because they are what I had but most exists and are bent to get the distance and bounce desired. Once I got everything I wanted the pw was retired. I want 15 yard gaps because it is my responsibility to hit a club a standard yardage, - 5 yards, & -10 yards. cnosil and edingc
heavygolffeels
I play PW, GW-52, SW-56, LW-60. I only care about yardage gaps on the GW. Dont want to have a huge or tight gap to the PW. I have no need to take a full swing with the SW or LW. Couldn't tell you how far the SW is capable of going. Don't care. As long as I know how to swing it 75 and 50, them I am fine. GregGarner
I appreciate counting the PW as a wedge. Not everyone does... I've currently got 3 with a PW that matches my iron set at 44.5* and then Mizuno S18s at 52* and 58*. Arriving tomorrow, however, are some new S18s (which I got for $80!) in 50, 54, 58. The plan is to get my yardages for the 50 and 54, check each ball flight and spin, and then decide which goes in the bag based on the course. At some point I'm going to get a 5 wood and take out both my 2h (GAPR Lo) and my 3i and that'll give me room to just game all 3 of the Mizunos. We'll see how it goes! cnosil 1 Quote Driver: ZX5 LS MkII 9.5* (@ 9.0*) with 46.5" Ventus Blue 6X 3-wood: SIM 15* with Diamana Limited 75S 5-wood: RADspeed 18.5* with Motore X F3 60S 2i: ZX with SteelFiber i95 Stiff 4hy: TS3 23* with Tensei AV Blue 70 S 4i-7i ZX7, 8i-PW Z-Forged, Modus3 Tour 120 S 50*, 55* RTX 6 Modus3 Tour 125 60* RTX Full Face ZipCore DG Spinner S400 Putter: Toulon Chicago with a Quad Tour or HB SOFT Milled 10.5S with UST All-in Ball: Chrome Tour (but I might still have some Left Dashes hanging around) Bag: Ltd Edition Tartan, blue/green/yellow Using to keep track of my shots Tested: D7 Forged 3i-PW, KBS Tour-V 110S - Official Review Blind Ball Test (Ball #3 vs Ball #4) - Unofficial Review V3 GPS Watch + Tags - Official Review Vero X2 - Official Review The Stack System - Official Review

What gap wedges have you, or are you trying? I've been making changes there as well and am still not content. Had at RTX 3. Currently playing a Ping Glide 3.0 at 52*. PIcked it up new during the pandemic so had to get stock and the shaft is not ideal for me. Contemplating reshafting or picking up something new altogether. Contemplating reshafting or picking up something new altogether. I haven't really tried out any yet, except one of the guys I routinely play with has The Cleveland CBX2, but it is a SW, not gap wedge. I liked the feel of it, so it's at the top of my list. I've been in the golf stores looking at the sizes, shapes, soles, and bounce options. My Callaway wedges were custom built with KBS Tour 90 shafts in regular flex which I like. That shaft is difficult to find in wedges, even as an option, and I would like the gap wedge to have the same shaft. Then Terry Koehler popped back on the wedge scene by developing a new wedge and starting the Edison Golf Co. Terry developed the SCOR wedges and Eidolon wedges before the SCORs, then started up the new Ben Hogan Golf Co. I had a full set of SCOR wedges that were great. The 50º is what I have in the bag currently. The Edison wedge was specifically developed for players with slower swing speeds that has more spin and better dispersion that all Tour level wedges. I have exchanged several emails asking questions, and had a long talk on the phone with one of their reps. He told me that Terry Koehler read my emails and wants to talk to me this week, probably Friday. I think I am the golfer that the Edison wedge is designed for, and I like Terry's designs. So I am going to give a gap wedge a try and if that works out, I might add others. heavygolffeels and cnosil 2 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
