I hope you know a good chiropractor...

You won't need a chiropractor if you allow your right leg to straighten and your hips to turn fully in the backswing.

Interesting how this is evolving. My change was 4’, 2’ up to 2’ flat and seems to be working OK. I’m not big on Lie boards, I think they Lie.
Fortunate maybe or properly fitted way back when.
I guess we’ll see how this shakes out.
Good stuff so faremoji106.png

That's funny!

I've only been "fitted" for clubs twice in my life, before Trackman and other newfangled launch monitors. Both times only using swing speed and the old fashioned lie board. The results?

1999 - Ben Hogan Apex Plus, Apex S4 shaft, 1/2-inch longer, standard lies

2007 - Cleveland TA3s, DG S300, 1-inch longer, 1-degree upright

I've mothballed the Clevelands, went back to the Hogans and recently had 'em bent 2-degrees flat to prevent a left miss. I have yet to hit 'em, but for $30, I thought it was worth experimenting. Trial & error

Big question for me during the challenge/review is how well the SpeedZone irons keep up ball speeds across the face. The 7-iron seemed to do a decent job of it in my fitting, but I'll be curious how it works throughout the bag.

My bad miss at the moment with irons is a spin-out pull hook, or if I save the face, a shot off the toe (usually on target, but short). For example, take these two 6-irons off the tee this morning. First one was absolutely smoked out of the center of the club face, beautiful push draw back on the target line just like I wanted:

6iron_1.png.813359a78c0874d210ce2c02c5d60076.png

The second I got around on it too much, and caught it out of the toe:

6iron_2.png.a9a5de8c8d9dd0d821f4f21a1d608ecd.png

That's a lot of distance to be giving up on the same club, strike-to-strike. Obviously the best remedy is to fix the swing, but I'll be very curious to see how the SpeedZones react.

I think you'll find a loss in distance, of course, but the difference won't be as dramatic. At least that's my experience when I went to the Bridgestone GI irons a couple years ago. Way out on the toe still aren't great, but the more subtle misses aren't punished nearly as bad. I say that having never hit Matlby's, so your mileage may vary.

The thing I've found with Arccos is the more data you give it, the better it becomes. It also seems to "learn" your game and starts picking up those little shots it misses at first. I don't think it can be 💯 but it gets close.

(Look I managed a whole post without a gif!!)

My prediction has not been proven false yet. You have to fully establish your baseline, and then compare your stats to the other competitors.

Just an FYI on how the competition works.

It's ok young one. With time and practice, you too can learn reading comprehension.

Not to brag, but I got a perfect score on the reading portion of my ACT. So yeah, my reading comprehension is just fine.
