Alright here is an update for my challengers or potential challengers this week ( @goaliewales14, @yungkory, @TCUFrog, @HeathS16, @sirchunksalot, and @Peaksy68)  I hope that you can all get out for a W&W round and I think I've set a good target for you:

Shot a 75 from the White/Blue tees.  Slope 114, rating 66.9.

I think Arccos is WAY overstating my driving today considering I ended up in a penalty area on 2 and otherwise had a lot of balls in the right rough.  I think it's purely based on the fact that I was so close to the hole that the driving handicap is that low.  I probably also could have gone OB on both approach shots on the par 5.  Both went left along the tree line but got fortunate bounces as the whole hole slopes to the right at that point.  But one of them definitely hit a tree and bounced out.

I did set some new personal bests  in the #CCC4 challenge this round too with 10 pars, 5 bogeys, 0 three putts, and I finished the 18 in a not quite @edingc fast 2 hours and 57 minutes.  

Best of luck out there, let's see some low numbers!

I just finished my round for the woods and wedges challenge and here's the gory details. Shot 46/51 for a 97 at Chatata Valley in Cleveland TN. I played the white tees which have a ratings of 70.1/124. 

Hit 8/14 fairways, 4/18 greens, and had a total of 35 putts. The putter was solid for me with 4 one putts and only 3 three putts. I almost had the wheels come off on my nemesis 10th hole, shooting an 8 after driving the ball short and left along a tree lined creek. I then attempted to take a 5 wood over a tree that it promptly hit. I then topped a 5 hybrid trying to be cute and attempting a low punch out under some branches, topped a SW before finally hitting the wedge on the green. 

I was really comfortable playing without irons and chose the whites knowing I could leave myself 150+ out for most of my second shots. I did hit a couple of situations where I had to play some half hybrid shots and they were awkward. I also blew up on the 18th hole, shooting 9 after losing my tee shot right. I also hit a punch hybrid into the green that hit the NO CARTS sign. 

I had a fun time doing this challenge and thanks to @B.Boston for playing along. 

A highlight of the day came on 17. I hit a 3 wood from the tee and left myself 170 yards to the pin. 

Hit 5 wood over the right edge of the darker green pine on the left to about 18 feet.

I missed the birdie by about 2 feet, but still made par. 

Almost forgot, my current handicap according to Arccos is a lousy 21.6. 

Thanks to the Mods for putting this challenge together, I had a great time.

Course looks like it's in really nice shape. Love how it has so many different tee boxes of varying lengths, too. Not many around here like that, at least not at the courses I frequent.

Damn planning to be 150+ out doesn't sound like fun! I only needed hybrid for two approach shots and two times on long par 3 shots.  Outside of that GW was long enough to at least get me to the front of the green (if I hit a good shot).

I've hit the stupid cart signs on an approach before... why do they put them there!? haha

Glad you got to get it in! How many rounds do you have on arccos? My HCP was very high for about 6 rounds but has evened our and am very close to my actual HCP.

I've hit the stupid cart signs on an approach before... why do they put them there!? haha

I had a great time doing it, probably one of the most fun rounds I've had in a while. Yeah, had to plan for longer approaches because neither of my wedges are good over 100 yards. I launch them way too high and need to work on that laser beam launch. Plus, I know my short game can bail me out if I miss the green. 

And those no cart signs, if I'm accurate enough to hit them with all the item space around them, why can't I get closer than 15 feet from 80 yards?

I've got 68 rounds logged into Arccos, so far. I started using it almost two years ago and have just recently had a stretch of really bad play that has hurt me. All but one of the rounds Arccos uses to calculate handicap have been in the high 40's+ and the high 90's. The only outlier was a 92.

What's funny is the bunker is somewhat hidden from the tee. I hit a choked down 4H 175 yards and it looked like it was gonna catch the front of the green then there was huge splash and water flying up in the air. I thought there is no water on this hole, then I realized what it was.

I really like that about my course, there's tee boxes for all skill levels. It actually made it hard to decide which one to play today.

Ok I looked it up...Unfortunately, I am playing in a very small turni this week so I won't be able to pick my own tee box... Sounds interesting though...so I'll keep track on how the holes that this plays out to those clubs...

It's an interesting one for sure.  Really weird to nothing in the middle of the bag.  Especially after playing all last week with the irons.  My first few driver swings felt really weird.  It was realllly nice to have the wedges back greenside though!  Good luck in your tournament! Charity/Scramble or are you in a legit solo tourny?

Does a Hybrid count as a wood for this challenge? I was part of the recent Tour Edge EXS Pro hybrid testing and plan to use it a lot on the course this weekend...

I could imagine. Makes you learn those bump and run chip shots! Im more of a "Flopper" myself.

This competition really highlighted how bad I need a specialty GW. I have a set one, but I think it's around 49° and I need something in the 52° range.

This was me last week just opposite side, need a set GW. I had my 135 PW and then nada! I jump from my PW-52....its not good.
