Had a putting session on the PuttOut setup. Used all 13 non putters, 3 each from 6 foot. Results were good, averaged slightly better than 2/3, with no shockers.

Contemplating changing the bag up a bit, perhaps dropping something to include my old driver. I probably won't as @daviddvm won't be able to, try to keep the playing field level as possible.

I decided to go with all 13 clubs and the putter for fairness. I have managed to get one round in but won't post a score yet just in case I can get another under my belt. I will say that I cycled 3.5 times and yes I putted on the 14th with a 56* wedge 😁😎. The whole thing was brilliant fun and took some serious thought while playing.

That's about where I was yesterday and thought I would need to end up putting with a wedge. Scares you a bit thinking about that while still trying to put the ball on the green...

I will be keeping all as well. The pre plan has it cycling 3 times with 2 holes after. Ideally anyway or as I like to say “in theory”

Nice! 👌 And I’ll be doing the same. Especially if an approach is just off the green and I knock a chip or bump close to hole, I’ll be putting with a club other than the putter.

Just had a look at the forecast for Friday and Saturday when I'm planning on playing. Looks like it might be fun.

IMG_2040.PNG.c84acba39dc5acfa879bfd1498514fc6.PNG

Hoping I get finished before the wind gets up fully. 34kph converts to about 21mph, throw in some showers and it could get interesting.

The things we do for the love of the game.

Worst part of it was I had three clubs left when I was on that tee, 4, 9 and 56*. I had kept 4 just for the tee shot as it's a dogleg right par 4 and 4 gets me to or just past the corner. I hit a nice tee shot and then thought a soft 9 would leave me just short for a 56* chip but I hit it too well and ended up pin high. I then contemplated putting for birdie but that would have left 56* for the next tee so I manned up and hit a 15 foot putt with the 56. It stopped 6 inches short, right in the jaws then I tapped in while laughing and thinking they will never believe this 🤣🤣😁😎

Oh, you can shorten up your bag or change the makeup if you want. 2 drivers, 5 clubs. It's all in play.

That WILL happen.

And I can see it already ... @B.Boston hoping that the remaining set doesn’t get shipped till after the competition is completed.

Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if he attempted to divert the delivery and have it rerouted to Charleston, WV!

So have planned the round out *in theory* I gave myself 6 actual shots per hole including putts but hopefully mentally this can give me a boost that I don’t go more than double on holes.

Also highlighted where I want to be a full evolution of the bag. Beginning of the round I know I’ll struggle but I usually turn it around at hole 7 on.

Last two holes little motivation:

Most of the courses still have them around here. Some cheaper made than others but I collect them. Different aspect of the game I really like utilizing them. Arccos obviously is great but something about a paper yardage book with green dimensions etc. is just fun.

It made planning a lot easier for sure, its going to go right out the window when I hit driver into the woods though.

TEAM HAMMER COBRA/VESSEL STAND BAG REVIEW

The Cobra/Vessel stand bag features a 4-way top with full length club dividers, carbon fiber stand legs, nine pockets and comes equipped with a backpack strap. Strategically placed carbon fiber panels fused with carbon fiber stand legs provide maximum tour level performance.

 Rangebag.jpeg.e245b3d74dbce311dbeb27ceae4a5807.jpeg

ON COURSE PERFORMANCE:

1396935861_3.5Stars.png.696166e7fa6e8f285b78da438e75fd35.png

With COVID most ranges have eliminated their bag stands so having a dedicated stand bag has made practice sessions much more convenient. The backpack strap makes it comfortable for carrying the bag from my car to the range/course, which is saying something for this old man’s bad back! Since I ride 100% of my rounds putting the bag on a cart makes accessing some of the pockets and clubs a bit of a challenge. Additionally, strapping the bag firmly to the cart constricts the bag making it difficult at times to pull clubs out and get them back in.

797091404_ScreenShot2020-08-19at11_47_19AM.png.8d4488ca3037c16f082b13186daab229.png

I miss my putter well! I find myself digging around for my putter a lot with this bag. I think part of the problem is the fact that I carry 4 woods whose head covers, while gorgeous, eat up a lot of space in the bag.

IMG_7493.JPG.d29480097b16d4fe4c56ab4d492de50d.JPG

I like the handle on the top of the bag for hauling the bag in and out of the car. I also use the handle to dry my wet golf gloves.

LOOK & FEEL:

1385681005_5stars.png.2b63602bad7ecbc2cc103d682535acae.png

The look, well, I’ve said it before, this bag is the perfect complement to the SpeedZone clubs as together they look fast standing still. The combination of faux leather with the snake scales pattern and carbon fiber is stellar. The carbon fiber legs reduce weight and have a race car inspired look and the end caps add stability to the whole package. IMHO, rain covers from most bag manufacturers are an afterthought, and it was clear that Cobra wanted to carry the SpeedZone theme even into that minute detail. Kudos to the Cobra marketing team for incorporating tons of branding elements into the bag & head covers without the bag looking like a NASCAR! The feel is a high-quality material that looks like it will hold up for many years.

IMG_6693.JPG.cb21db961429ffa0541257a2f6d0b3ec.JPG

At 6 pounds it’s a little heavier than some canvas stand bags, but the shell is more durable. My cart bag weighs in at 0.7 pounds more than the stand bag. I don’t really notice the half pound difference between this bag & my cart bag when both bags are full

STORAGE:

There are 9 pockets on the bag:

Deep valuables pocket for rangefinders, sunglasses Etc.

Small side pocket with outer zippered pocket

Large apparel pocket for rain gear & the rain hood, with 2 internal pockets

2 Insulated pockets for water bottles

The left side of the bag just has a small pocket with a narrow zippered outer pocket. While I like the branding elements, I would rather have seen that real estate filled with another small pocket to increase storage capacity, this would also help when used as a cart bag to provide a pocket with easier access. At the very least adding a second D-ring in that area would allow for the addition of a club brush or second towel area.

I usually throw a cold bottle of water and a frozen protein bar in the cooler pocket of my stand bag which will stay cold at least through the first nine. The Vessel bag lacks a cooler pocket. It does have two insulated bottle holders, but the cooling power is overwhelmed in Georgia summers.

The bag has a good size ball pocket and a very deep pocket above that one for your rangefinder & valuables, and sleeves for 4 tees, but it would have been great to have a very small pouch pocket in that area for tees & divot tools. I’ve put those items in the left side zipper pocket, but it’s tough to get to when it’s on a cart.

Since I'm a rider, and not a walker, I really love having a Swiss army knife type bag that has tons of storage, access to all the pockets while on the cart, 13 full length dividers and a putter well. So, I am going to trade the bag for my old cart bag, BUT, I am not letting this bag go! I’m going to put my old Cobra clubs in it and display the bag in my office, it’s just too cool looking to trade!

The Cobra/Vessel stand bag is gorgeous, the fit and finish is top notch and carryover branding from the clubs to the bag is the best I’ve ever seen. If you are in the market for a new stand bag, or you are a Cobra loyalist you won’t find a better stand bag anywhere.

TEAM HAMMER COBRA/VESSEL STAND BAG REVIEW

The Cobra/Vessel stand bag features a 4-way top with full length club dividers, carbon fiber stand legs, nine pockets and comes equipped with a backpack strap. Strategically placed carbon fiber panels fused with carbon fiber stand legs provide maximum tour level performance.

ON COURSE PERFORMANCE:

With COVID most ranges have eliminated their bag stands so having a dedicated stand bag has made practice sessions much more convenient. The backpack strap makes it comfortable for carrying the bag from my car to the range/course, which is saying something for this old man’s bad back! Since I ride 100% of my rounds putting the bag on a cart makes accessing some of the pockets and clubs a bit of a challenge. Additionally, strapping the bag firmly to the cart constricts the bag making it difficult at times to pull clubs out and get them back in.

At 6 pounds it’s a little heavier than some canvas stand bags, but the shell is more durable. My cart bag weighs in at 0.7 pounds more than the stand bag. I don’t really notice the half pound difference between this bag & my cart bag when both bags are full

STORAGE:

1396935861_3.5Stars.png.696166e7fa6e8f285b78da438e75fd35.png

There are 9 pockets on the bag:

Large ball pocket

Deep valuables pocket for rangefinders, sunglasses Etc.

Small side pocket with outer zippered pocket

Large apparel pocket for rain gear & the rain hood, with 2 internal pockets

2 Insulated pockets for water bottles
